Donald Duke clears the air on his views on Gay Rights | BellaNaija

Donald Duke

People around the world are calling for equal rights for all, a movement which has also been taken up by the Nigerian youth.

2019 presidential aspirant Donald Duke had been reported to have promised legal protection for LGBT people in Nigeria while interviewing on the show “On the Couch with Falz & Laila.”

The former Cross River State Governor had been quoted to have said:

I don’t understand their sexuality, but I will not criminalise them. I will ensure that they have the protection of the law.

Donald Duke has however released a statement clarifying this.

“Homosexuality is a crime in Nigeria and ought to remain so,” Duke said, but he “would not go seeking homosexuals for prosecution.”

This is why you should just say what you mean ad mean what you say..NO APOLOGIES.
At least you wont be accused of double- mindedness.

In other words..he believes as God says that homosexuality is an abomination….he also believes you should obey the law of the land in which you reside. However, he would much rather you REPENT and TURN BACK TO GOD than end up in jail. He knows this is not an issue jail nor violence can resolve nor reform.

These are some peoples STRUGGLE….but God’s grace is SUFFICIENT ENOUGH to fight against the desires of the flesh. I sincerely pray that any of you going through this struggle will UTILIZE your VICTORY IN JESUS, Amen.

    Nigerians should stop copying.
We have a culture of lagacy and continuity, hence procreation is very important, especially for Igbo culture.
Hence, a typical Igboman never leaves his homeland even in death.
Europeans are different and that’s why anywhere is home for them. Wherever you are born, remains your home forever.
Procreation , gender, therefore means nothing to them. Gay makes no difference to them.
Let them hold on to their culture and Iwe will hold on to ours ,just as Jewish people despite their years in exile have held on to theirs.
I Am 100% WITH DONALD DUKE! He just gained votes.
    The lineage must continue.
    # adoption should not REPLACE procreation. We need men and women to make babies. Keep the science project out of Nigeria. TKe it to places where it thrives.
    #Keep the ancestral spirits burning.

    Pls keep your vote..lol
    Vote your Buhari.

What do Nigerians really want? Does your president have to agree with you on every issue?
Someone says they don’t believe in gay rights you let loose on them. Better look at the more pertinent issues . he did not make that law. If you want it changed get your lawmakers to do so.

Thank you oh. Gay ko, gay ni. That was all the yeye hosts kept hammering on, in the midst of all the myriad of issues facing Nigeria. Borrow borrow copy copy. That’s all Nigerians know.

It will suffice to say that your comment is prove that the average mental capacity to fix problems in a N20k minimum wage economy isn’t available if it already carries the label.

I guess you would be glad to also know there is a “Chartered Institute of Entrepreneurship (Establishment)” Bill in the works or should i say passed.

first they came of the inalienable rights of the gays, you said nothing…..(LOL!!!)
