Not long after US President Donald Trump announced that the country is “going to be issuing an emergency order of prohibition regarding all flights of the 737 MAX 8 and 737 MAX 9,” the US Federal Aviation Authority (FAA) temporarily grounded operation of Boeing 737 Max aircraft operated by U.S. airlines or in a U.S. territory.

In another statement on Twitter minutes later, the FAA gave an “Emergency Order effective immediately, prohibits the operation of Boeing Model 737-8 and 737-9 MAX airplanes by U.S. certificated operators.”

“Pilots have been notified, airlines have been all notified. Airlines are agreeing with this. The safety of the American people and all people is our paramount concern,” Trump had said.
