CHICAGO, ILLINOIS – JUNE 06: Singer R. Kelly leaves the Leighton Criminal Courthouse on June 06, 2019 in Chicago, Illinois. The singer appeared in front of a judge to face new charges of criminal sexual abuse.

R. Kelly has pleaded not guilty to 11 new sexual assault charges.

He had earlier been charged with 10 counts of aggravated criminal sexual abuse.

“We pled not guilty to all of the charges because he’s not guilty,” his lawyers said, according to BBC.

After the charges were filed last week, his lawyer Steve Greenberg declared that the RnB star was not charged with a new case but was recharged in an existing case with the same alleged victim and time.

Prosecutors have said the alleged offences took place between May 2009 and January 2010.

R. Kelly will be back in court June 26th.
