This week was all good, all smooth sailing. Perhaps because the year is rounding up, everyone’s efforts are starting to yield fruits, relationships are blossoming, jobs are being secured. Anyway, let’s get right into it!
This one. started with a small story about how a woman had a stillborn and her husband left the room. Like, he just upped and left the hospital. They dialled his number over and over, but he’d gone. Disappeared.
The story started a long a** back and forth on Twitter about men and women and who is often left to bear trauma alone, who supports who.
This lady had a stillborn and her husband left the room. He said he couldn't see his child like that, but she literally is giving birth to a dead baby and you left her there to do that alone. He left the entire hospital. Didnt answer her calls. Like.
— L. Fisherman (@D0MXNXQUE) September 8, 2019
Many men can’t stay and watch. If the tables were turned, many women would try to escape it too. When my mum had to have CS, my father signed the form and ran away because he was terrified to death for his wife and unborn child.
— The CV Writer (@_AdeFunke_) September 8, 2019
Since when do you have to suffer grief to understand it? i don’t think that’s accurate.
— Jola (@Jollz) September 9, 2019
It is 100% accurate. You don't need to suffer grief to empathise or sympathise with someone who is grieving, but to truly understand it? You must experience it first.
— Koromone (@Koromone_K) September 9, 2019
If you’ve not experienced a certain level of pain (parent’s death, sibling’s/child’s death, or lover’s death), it would be very easy for you to misconstrue what she meant.
I myself was in the room when my mum passed & in all honesty you have to suffer grief to understand grief. https://t.co/wz72yjgBqt
— Omobolape (@queen_mobola) September 9, 2019
I really need to understand the rationale behind running away from grief that is really yours and leaving your partner to suffer alone. Does running away change the fact that y’all lost a baby?
— Meiguan (@Tunzz_) September 9, 2019
"You have to suffer grief to understand grief"
So only the man was grieving right?.. not the lady that carried the child for nine months and had to go through labour to have a still born. Y'all are tripping
— Charitee Cherotich Muthoni (@ChariteeMuthoni) September 11, 2019
"You have to suffer grief to understand grief" I felt that.
— Denzel (@Denzel14n) September 10, 2019
E say 'you have to suffer grief to understand grief'.
God help me
— Mandie Waterfalls ? (@mxndxyluv) September 9, 2019
"You have to suffer grief to understand grief"
How difficult is it to comprehend??
— king tk (@Tinu_Kuye) September 9, 2019
Sis please. I beg you. Stop this you have to suffer grief to understand. There are a million and one sources of grief and no one has seen all.
That is where empathy and decency come in. https://t.co/gGiazHYpmY
— KJ (@KofoJomo) September 9, 2019
Bringing this tweet back bc people are making excuses for a man who abandoned his wife at stillbirth. This is a cycle. Husbands are more likely to abandon their sick wives. Couples are more likely to divorce when the wife is sick. Female prisons are filled with female visitors. https://t.co/Tz8rI2xwGN
— Ada Nwoke (@okemzuruoke) September 9, 2019
Was going to say (but it was in there), this is commonly known in prisons. Women wait for men to get out. Dudes never visit.
I hope I’d be different.
And like fathers get credit for childcare. It’s a different set of expectations.
Wonder if it’s different anywhere?

Tiwa Savage’s Week
What a week she’s had, after the release of the stunning video to her single 49-99. She’s gotten shout-outs from her faves, sat front row at the New York Fashion Week, and had her face on a billboard in Times Square. We aggressively Stan.

Biodun Fatoyinbo’s Apology
Busola Dakolo has requested that her alleged rapist Pastor Biodun Fatoyinbo apologise to her on papers and live TV, that’s the latest development (one we would be satisfied to see happen). Although the court documents have been seen on social media, the pastor and his lawyers have said it’s yet to be sent to them. We await.
All of you dragging and insulting Busola Dakolo for allegedly asking N10m from Pastor Biodun.
From the court papers below she only asked him to apologise on papers and Live TV which cost will be about N10m.
But Nigeria media choose to be shitty with their headlines pic.twitter.com/hFEPkPxyie
— Vanessa (@EmpressWodi) September 9, 2019
This Busola Dakolo's case against Biodun Fatoyinbo of #COZA isn't something that appears will die quickly. I don't know Busola, but I know Biodun during my days in Kwara Polythechnic in 2003. Nobody should should come and tell me he's changed. I liked yam in 2003 and still do! pic.twitter.com/ATBizj0xqO
— Olalekan Adigun (@MrLekanAdigun) September 9, 2019
No Busola Dakolo doesn’t need to move on. She can fight to get justice. She decided to fight for it so she is determined to get it and that’s fine . Nobody should dictate to a survivor of a rape how to handle it . https://t.co/Lra3s6rYHs
— ebele. (@ebelee_) September 9, 2019
So many idiots are saying they're tired of Busola Dakolo. Imagine how tired she is of being disbelieved and knowing her rapist is walking scott free.
— Ọmọ Get Inside (@oh_yinda) September 9, 2019
Before you join the foolish crowd
take time to read and understand?
: the N10m is the estimated COST of the apologies Fatoyinbo is expected to make on 2 national dailies and on national TVs for 7 days?.

I just read up on Maureen and Blossom's alleged marriage saga. You know what is sad? A lot of people blaming her for "loving too much", "overcaring" etc. It is annoying that we fault people for being vulnerable and showing love but give a pass to the shitty guy for 'being smart'.

The Rich Also Die
The drip is eternal. That’s what the people are saying after the remains of Zimbabwean dictator Robert Mugabe was seen in an Adidas bodybag. (Who knew those even existed?)
But, actually, no, that’s not Mugabe’s body. That actually is a 3D rendering. Sorry.
