so why are they putting American and British Artist in and African music awards???? they should have their own categories in my opinion. like best foreign hiphop or something in that realm…..WTH!

  • THE AMAKA August 27, 2009 at 3:09 am

every year the SAME people are being nominated. there are a lot more talented artist in naija that should AT LEAST be nominated to be shown their appreciation even if they dont win.
every year na the same thing over and over.
and why are there british artist here like someone else said?
na wa!! lame music awards where every year you will see the SAME PEOPLE. give it a variety. there are a lot more talented and good musicians out there.

  • Tola August 27, 2009 at 3:55 am

wande coal is still a small boy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • miss August 27, 2009 at 6:11 pm

But.. because he is small, he can’t progress yet? Is it not about the music??At the end we know in the last year, his music has been better than some of these nominees. and these people, they have already won last year, let the new guys enjoy too jare.

  • miss August 27, 2009 at 6:13 pm

The Amaka.. a lot of times I don’t agree with your opinions but this time I do o. Same people as last year, there have some great music from some new artists that should be nominated.

  • Lentini August 28, 2009 at 12:29 am

there we go again? some Nigerians with their out of touch ego. how is wande coal a small boy? his album was one of the best so far this year.
@Tola can u explain what u mean by he is a small boy becos in my opinion, that is some primitive yanz……hissssssssssssssssssss!

  • pontepomz August 30, 2009 at 7:37 pm

u are right.same shit every year.

  • Evans September 5, 2009 at 2:16 am

They are put there the same way 2face was put in MTV europe music award some years ago

  • Evans September 5, 2009 at 2:20 am

I don’t agree with the statement that wande coal is a small boy. I think the reason wande coal and some other new talented artists are not nominated is because their music is yet to appeal to citizens of other african countries. Their music is still in a way localize (No disrespect to anyone). Just my opinion..

  • Taofik September 15, 2009 at 7:09 am

Akon’s nomination can be traced to his african origin but beyonce……..should have been in the american awards.

  • lin September 22, 2009 at 12:23 pm

Firstly, we should ask Tola her idea of a small boy… What angle are u coming from…. age, size, class… maybe u shld be more explicit next time.. Wande Coal is a wonderful musican.. He’s got nice concept when it comes to music which is what we shld be looking out for…
