New Video: P-Square Ft. J Martins – E No Easy
Posted on Tuesday, May 18th, 2010 at 10:53 PMBy BellaNaija.com
The musical force that is P-Square does not seem to be slowing down anytime soon. Since their several years ago, P Square has stayed consistently on top of their game.
They have toured relentlessly around Africa, released smash hit singles & albums and won various awards (most recently the $1,000,000 Kora Award grand prize – yup, you are not mistaken, those are 6 zeroes!).
P Square has just released the video for “E No Easy“, one of the popular tracks off their most recent album “Danger“. We have to admit this video moved this song from “like” to “love”.
The video was directed by their brother, award-winning video director and music producer, Jude “Engees” Okoye and features a cameo from South African music star, Proverb.
Check on it.

Beautiful video,nice concept.I luv it.
W-O-W! Fantastic song, fantastic video.
LOVE LOVE LOVE their wardrobe, at least some1 is showing some incentive.. People are hiring stylists, stylists are coming up with themes and so on.. Slowly but surely we’ll get there!
oh boy, no be small thing oh.. THis video get as he dey do me..do me..
I love their music and all but once they start talking normally their igbotic accent lets them down.
lol@ damola. we may just be sharing the same thot. this vid reminds me of do me
@ Iya, what is wrong with their so called “Igbotic accent” as you put it, are they not igbo boys, is okoye not an igbo name, so what accent do you want them to speak with?? chinese-American accent abi. oh, i see, maybe you would have prefered they speak with a thick ondo / Ogbomosho yorubatic accent. you my friend are showing signs of someone with a very low esteem.
@Sling – Im entitled to my opinion, pls shut up and mind your own business. I stand by my opinion of their igbotic sounding accents. Whether it is a thick ‘yorubatic’ accent or ‘hausatic’ one the fact of the matter is its still not refined enough. Simple!! Cant someone express their honest opinion without someone having a go?
@ iya what do you mean by their igbotic accent ???? na wa oo .
are they not igbo boys who lived in igbo land and were raised up by igbo ppl ???
oh ok you want them to talk um… british ??? , or to develop all these fake american accents when they grew up in jos….
Abeg ppl learn to appreciate ur own … u want them to sound all ‘refined’ when u go uuuuuh and ahhhhh over shakira’s accent and brick and lace’s accent . some of these ppl still have their accents even after living in the states or where ever for years nd its not like they can’t change its just that they love nd appriciate where they come from clearly more than some ppl here do.
No comment on the igbotic accent, it’ll not make them any less successful. Lovely song. You guys are to much. Continue with the good work.
@iya,ejooo what is the meaning of a refined accent? You should grow up.Your opinion lacks
merit.
@ iYA
u are such an olodo oshi. self esteem basket case. so igbo men shouold have what accents? not refined? olodo like u have u even seen Murtala Mohammed Airport b4. ode fyi pple in Jand have regional accents.Just like we have yoruba and igbo accents they also have london, scouse and brummie accents.
Is it becos all d naija pple tht have passed d airport come back with the same accent. Go to jand and hear accents,u will fall in love with the so called igbotic accent.
FYI u wouldn’t know refined if it slapped u in d face.
Thank you sling and all the other replies to Iya comment…. leave ppls accent.. every one is the world has an accent.. own yours and try to be original and not copy other!
I love Psquare and I see them going places… Good job guys! God bless.
Fyi im from calabar and dont talk with such a thick accent. But im sure the environment in which you grow up influences the way one speaks. For those calling me names etc and saying they have self esteem issues, you are the ones who have issues. You cant write a simple sentence without abuse, i dont have to agree with you people, dont know you and dont care. Baboons!
Yeeeppaaaaa!!!!! I love it!!!
Loool chei the way eeerbody has attacked this Iya ehn lol. Iya where are, dnt allow them jst insult u lyk dis nw!!!
Tru say thou… their accent has not affected their success in any way. bless u P Square.
Nd Peter luv im not feelin this ur dreads again!
Vry nice guys!… love love the video!!
People just cant help but criticize others
who are made for life. Igbo accent or
not my Boys are smiling all the way to
the bank!!!
I love the video and I love their accents! That’s the whole point, they are Nigerians and they are different and I love them!
I never said i didnt like them i just pointed out how their accents sounded and really lets them down in interviews as they sound like they just arrived from the village. What is wrong in pointing out the obvious? Some people are just so stupid, Judy, Pellu and co are examples of such stupidity.
Iya
oniranu.Me stupid? ehn i dnt think so mate.accent. u have self esteem issues deal with it. they sound like peeps who just came from d village? say what? village pple are not pple again right. U are lucky u have a computer to come and display ur obvious foolishness. Keep up the foolishness and God help u the man u marry beta be very refined.olodo like that so called refined accent u are talking about is not just that, an accent.
@ iya u clearly have a problem , if its not self esteem then just try nd find out what ur problem is . u just complained that some ppl couldn’t write a sentence without abuses , and then u go ahead nd call the same ppl stupid nd baboons ( which i don’t think makes u any different) ….. ppl u don’t know nd hve never seen . its just too bad cause i think what u re doing right now , is what someone stupid would do .
i just objected to the crazy thing u said , i didn’t call u names and within the space of 24hrs u managed to convince me that u really needed help . God help u .
I luv luv LUV it! I was just smiling throughout, wonderful Baba God e no easy at all at all, but na ur hand we dey!
@ Iya,
I am sure when you wrote your comment you were expecting people to concur.
Well guess what? There is a new consciousness sweeping across Nigeria and
it is saying ‘Love yourself’.
Who doesn’t have an accent? So you can’t stand your relatives in your village
with a calabar accent abi?
You really need to do some soul searching cos you sound so ignorant.
hahahaha at the attacks towards Iya…but babe u no try sha..
Abeg, make una free Iya o! Accent or no accent, the P Square guys try, and as long you can understand what they are saying, who cares!
@iya,you are simply one of the fake numerous young babes that love to fake their accent.Gosh,I hate such babes……I bet on my last euro that you weren’t even born and raised in your so called ‘refined environment’.Be yourself little lady….appreciate your accent and don’t try to be who you are not.Accent wouldn’t get you a decent bobo, but effective communication will…..come see where sweet oyibo babes dey trip as I dey yan with my sexy Owerri village accent. You wan try?Sidon there dey form aje……P Square carry go…In fact, put bass for the accent.lol……
Na so one Yoruba dude dey form Aje for one club for UK.When Police stop am and asked for his papers,na so hin begin the blow pidgin english mixed with Akure Dialect…..Why can’t our people be real?
lol @ all the comments.
bt nigerians have issues sha…ibotic accent?
maybe they should start faking it like Mike Ezuruonye and Jim Iyke, then u’ll appreciate them.
one thing i like about P’square is their ‘reallness’…they don’t ‘form’, they have enough confidence in themselves, so they don’t need to be what they r not..
maybe you should open a school for ”fune” in nigeria here so dat fakers like u can go and learn ‘refined’ english…
@iya: as much as I wanted to neglect you cos u dont matter at all, I feel I still must make a remark or 2. who really are you? a calabar girl? how do you speak? with the usual “calabar” accent which I know, or with an “american” one, where u aint from? why r u a HATER- listen to Track 8 in their Danger Album- it is meant for you and your likes- retarders? well u have so vividly shown you have self-esteem, (inferiority-)complex issues. so you just go deal with them and sort yourself out. P-square are not your class at all- wealth, fame, power, influence-they’v got, you have none of those. P-square obtained $1,000,000 being Africa’s artiste of the year 2009; hosted by Blaise Compaore, President of a country (Burkina Faso); you can NEVER have any of these with your present mindset. Thus do go and just work on yourself, you counterfeit person. good nite.
IBO BOYS- una too much ee! Keep doing, not just Nigeria, but Africa, proud. You may not know, but the continent and the world are watching and taking note. I LOVE U, P-SQUARE! U are the best Nigeria and indeed Africa currently have. Congrats on your $1,000,000 worth-Kora Award, your being hosted by the President of Upper Volta and again, being nominated for the BET- I hope and pray you win that as well. Leave the haters (like IYA)- let them keep hating and keep going down as well. I Love You, Paul and Peter! May God keep blessing you, my OKOYE Brothers. Cheers, Nzube (IBO BOY)!
@IYA: iya what are you? iyapukutu or iyaburutu. whatever you call yourself, you are an enemy of progress, an agent of retrogression and a hater. above all you have a complex, personality issue. work on yourself. you need help, Iya, before your condition degenerates into something irreversible. you seem to be a counterfeit person. if you notice, my remarks are devoid of abuses, invectives, insults and perhaps swearwords which you infact deserve, but they are not necessary. may you find help.
oh boy… dis video too much, he too gbaski, na only 2baba and dbanj I dey feel like this, I have seen this video at least 10 times on this site, over and over, and over and over again.
The costume is gagastic, honoring the greatest of the great, MJ. who happened to have influenced their very first set of music.. seniorita etc..
Didn’t understand the music fully until now, can’t get over 2:10.. when you fall, you can stand up again and again… these guys 2 much.. tuale!
Lmao!!!!!!!!!!
Im loving the way everyone is giving this Iya of a person a piece of their
mind and you all made valid points. welldone o jare
IYA, where are you??? Reply now!!!
Next time, you will think before you start publicizing your ignorant ‘opinion’!
Foolish babe!! SMH
U guys should free this Iya babe now. There is such a thing as speaking properly.
And although she did not get her point across the right way this was what she
was trying to say. They simply do not speak properly and it does let them down
during interviews. The way they speak has no connection to their talent. so there’s
no need for name calling. It is something that they should work on if they feel the
need to. There is no harm in learning to speak the english language the correct
way, not with an American or British accent but to enunciate their words clearly.
So please people relax.
erm…. what’s up with the marching band outfits??
Lmao!!!i’m sorry, but i’d have to go with Iya on this one, even though she didnt communicate her point properly.@cooldown4jesus seems to be the only other person that understands what she was trying to say.
And for those of you commending them for speaking with Nigerian accents,i’m sorry to burst ur bubble, but that aint the truth! They dont speak properly at all in terms of grammar, enunciation etc;and with all that they still try to adopt some kinda foreign-sounding accent-like with the extra ‘R’s and all that. Basically, they end up sounding terrible during interviews.
If you want to talk of someone who embraced their Nigerian accents without any airs whatsoever-that’d be DaGrin(bless his soul). That was one Nigerian artiste that was totally true to his roots.
Wow!!! Love it!!!
i only read half of the comments. IYA seems to have major inferiority complex issues.
anyway NICE VIDEO! lets no longer mind IYA and her ignorant statements.
LWKMD.. Iya ohh…they really gave it to u…and very well deserved… accent indeed!!!
fake girls like u and soo extinct…back to the video…love love it!! P square ur such an inspiration
ur songs are always onpoint… pls make a video of impossible which is one of my favs
love u both and God bless!!
@cooldown4jesus
dnt support iya cos we are not daft.if she meant they do not pronounce words properly thats different. she clearly meant accent not pronounciation.
I agree with Ronami…I too was wondering at the Mrching band outfits…and they even got J-Martins in with them on it! Yeah, it also reminded me of Do Me. I was all d time thinking “Jude and the SA Girls, Again!!” Pls different concept next time!
But I love my (Igbo) boys, accent and all. If u even want to talk abt peeps with igbotic accent…check out Kanu Nwankwo (notice the contrast with his son’s accent in the peak advert?)
Anyhow they r making it big, and according to my Onitsha brothers the important thing is….libe ego, taba ego eze! that’s all!
Seriously, the ones commenting and calling Iya names are the ones who sound
stupid and ignorant. Can Nigerians disagree without calling people names or
reigning abuse? No, they fight each other like bunch of animals.
So what! if she said what she said, it’s her opinion. Geez, it’s as simple
as this, disagree, say your opinion with respect and clarity.
It’s just like how Americans talk about Arnold schwarzenegger accent, but that
didn’t stop him from becoming governor of california, so it’s not the end
of the world.
My thing is since Africa already has negative stereotypes, I believe that
if Africans want others to acknowledge them, they have to prove themselves
and have good presentation that is appealing internationally without losing
your identity or culture.
You can’t compare Shakira’s or Brick/ lace accent to a nigerian accent
bcos latin or carribean accent are more accepted than an African accent.
people have different accent based on where they grew up, and nothing
wrong with that.
The truth is some Nigerians have very thick strong accent, that they might
need to just tone down a lil bit especially if they are doing smth that will be
viewed internationally, and I don’t
mean to be fake. For example, I like how Genevieve Nnaji keeps her accent in
all her movies as opposed to others who try so hard to have a fake british/ameri
can accent, but then again she doesn’t have a strong accent. Looking at
P Square music and the way they dress, some may argue that it doesn’t match
the way they speak, but that’s people’s opinion. It is what it is, and it’s good
that they are staying true to who they are.
@ cici you are contadicting yourself… i suggest you read Iya’s comment again then come back and read wat you wrote…
now back to the video, not feeling the concept at all… the same old , girls dancing aroun stuff…
beautiful video………….i love it xxx
Iya is not only talking about them having igbotic accent, but it’s strong
and thick. she made reference to herself that she’s calabar but she
doesn’t have thick accent.
Some Nigerians have the thick igbotic accent or the thick yorubatic accent
that sounds like they just came from the village. I heard that people who
grew up in places like Abuja or port harcourt their accent is more subtle.
I have an uncle who has a thick igbotic accent that I barely understand what
he’s saying sometimes. I personally think he can work on it, not to sound
American but to speak with a more subtle accent. He doesn’t care, so that’s
not going to happen.
On the other hand, my mom’s bro who lives in Port harcourt, he visits here once in a
in awhile, he speaks not with a fake american/british accent, but a more subtle
accent. You sometimes forget that he lives in Nigeria. Genevieve is ibo, but
doesn’t have the thick igbotic accent. Wole Soyinka is yoruba but doesn’t have
the thick yorubatic accent.
It will be nice that some nigerians with thick accent can work on having
a subtle accent. It’s not about being fake or copying the western world, but
just to have good presentation of yourself. Someone mentioned interviews,
Nigerians definitely need to work on that. The interviewer learns to ask the
right question, and the person been interviewed needs to know the right thing
to say and speak clearly.
At the end of the day, p square or my uncle will still talk and their igbotic accent
won’t stop them from being successful and that’s smth i have to remind myself.
This video was terrible to put it mildly. What were those chinese people doing there?? The video had absolutely no concept. I was so dissapointed. I luv the song. Don’t even get me started on th outfit. Is it May27th?? Ejo o. And u guys shld free this Iya babe. All she did was voice her opinion n frankly, she has a point. How many of you haven’t laughed when Psquare dem were interviewed?? With the kind of exposure they have, their grammatical everything is just ridiculous. I’m waiting to see the next vid they come up with. So far, I think they should fire whoever is writing their scripts. PS: this is my opinion. I honestly don’t care if you agree or not so please don’t be mentioning me in ur replies. Thankyou.
just seeing this..Iya is very correct, infact P-square are the main people trying to fake up their accent, plus the nonsense igbotic accent which makes it so horrible when they talk, they should either stick to strong igbotic accents and stop forming what they are n not.
