Brilliant stuff. Jodie would go far like Omawumi. She has great talent.

Nice song and very original. I think its high time most of our film directors have a rethink with all this south african shooting that has nothing to do with the nigerian reality contained in Nigerian Hip hop songs. Moreover music video has a lot in how tourists view cities and countries worth visiting.

    • Miss Face February 18, 2011 at 1:05 AM

B-e-a-u-t-i-f-uuulll! so touching ddnt realize till the end that kuchi wasnt her lover but her “son”. what was the director’s problem?just kept zooming the camera right into her mouth over and over again, thank goodness for her nice dentition otherwise it would have been nauseating (to say the least)c’mon now!

    • Brittle Paper February 18, 2011 at 2:50 AM

Adorable. Why does she remind of Onyeka?

      • mariaah February 18, 2011 at 3:53 PM

Cos they sound alike and the beats to this song sounds like “wait for me” the one she sang with King Sunny Ade when she was like really really young… Singing:
I you love me you go wait for me,
        Wait for me,
        Make we plan am well..

      • Tunde Fajimi February 19, 2011 at 1:54 PM

Exactly my thought. She reminds me of Onyeka as well. Beautiful in a natural way, deep lyrics, fully and Proudly Nigerian (not in a ‘Naija, green-white-green attire while spouting American music sort of way, but really and sincerely).

Her music inspires you to cherish every day, and the ‘little’ things that you are blessed with.

Hope we see more of her in the same light. Kudos.

    • pepepe February 21, 2011 at 7:08 AM

the video remind me so much of some characters from the popular ‘welcome to lagos’ BBC documentary. It first reminds me of Esther who lived on the beach and also Joseph, whom amidst poverty, threw a first birthday party for his daughter…

      love the song

      • pepepe February 21, 2011 at 7:09 AM

        “reminds”

Jodie was my favourite to win the Idols thingy!! I like this girl, there’s something about her that I just like….For the song, it’s just original!! I really like the fact she was singing to a baby and not the cliche men we always croon to…Noice! ;-)

Absolutely loved this song the first time I saw the video. Definitely identify with every word and verse, as a mother of a young child too, a truly inspiring song. Brilliant video concept as well, at first I didn’t realise who she was singing about until towards the end of the video, I then replayed it, at which point every word made sense and matched the video. Very catchy tune too. Jodie, I hope to hear and see more of you in the near future, more power to you!
