By BellaNaija.com

The timing of the release of Ty Bello‘s new video – “The Future” is definitely apt.
With the “last-minute” postponement of the Senate & House of Representative elections yesterday, this song and video inspires introspection and hopefully positive action by everyone who listens.
The video features statements from Chude Jideonwo, Tara Fela-Durotoye, Ngozi  Iwere, Fela Durotoye and Lanre Olusola. Banky W, Lami, Sound Sultan, Ayeni Adekunle, Adebola Williams, Nse Ikpe Etim, Emem Ema, Dayo Ephraim and many other celebrities have cameo appearances in the video was well. The video was directed by Kemi Adetiba.

      so inspiring

    • mekus d menene April 3, 2011 at 1:07 PM

what i dunno is who exactly the nigeria youth is voting for

      • Chipii April 3, 2011 at 3:52 PM

Me sef I wonder! Because there is nobody credible to vote for. Anyway sha, give me a politician with a a sincere vision for Naija and I will back him as God commands me to. As for this election, I no dey vote. But big ups to everyone who did! :D This is just the beginning!

        • Ready April 4, 2011 at 1:26 AM

As God commands you to? Choi…na so? Will he/she do it in a vision or will the pastor pass on the information? As for sincerity, praytell, how do you determine the sincerity of their visions? Granted, there aren’t many credible politicians out there, but I think we exacerbate the matter by not asking the right questions from these political parties.
In Naij, politicians form parties based on which one they think is more likely to win, and we voter vote according to personalities– who we like and who we don’t like or what they said, etc. However, in many countries, politicians join parties according to ideology–conservative or liberal fiscal/economic policies, conservative or liberal social perspectives. Until we demand to know exactly what policies these politicans intend to use to fix the nation’s problems, we’ll continually get populist leaders with no real sense of directionwho only repeatedly tell us our problems (like we don’t already know).

        • Ginika April 4, 2011 at 2:39 PM

@Ready, gbam *in the conc’est igbo accent*

    • mekus d menene April 3, 2011 at 1:09 PM

they are just saying vote vote. vote fr hu naa??? lets us put head together vote fr 1 person so our vote go really count.

      • BubblyBliss April 3, 2011 at 3:15 PM

Err! That’s why it’s called a right to vote. Vote for who you want, not who a group of people feel should be. That’s as good as selling your vote. That’s why there are debates for your to listen and decide for yourself and not jump on a bandwagon and vote for who someone else thinks is deserving.

        • THE AMAKA April 3, 2011 at 4:45 PM

          exactly.

      • Neighbor April 4, 2011 at 11:46 AM

Exactly! this is not about jumping on any bandwagon, this is about following a viable course and if this so-called youth leaders cannot set one (because they all have their neck tied) then expect me to sell my vote to the highest bidder.

    • lulubabe April 3, 2011 at 1:35 PM

Oh my, this brought tears to my eyes and a feeling of pride in the youth of this country and the country itself that i did not know i still had! We have to take our country back from these evil people and it starts now with ME, with YOU!

    • Sassy Diva April 4, 2011 at 8:40 AM

This is simply inspiring, left me with goosebumps and teary eyed. Well done TY …..and her team

    • Domina April 4, 2011 at 9:02 AM

God bless TY Bello and the rest of the crew… this is soo inspiring and all our nigerian entertainers should follow in these steps… Banky W, Eldee, sound sultan and some other artistes have been during a wonderful job as well and God will bless u all richly for this..
All those actors and actresses as well as artistes (we all know who they are) who are busy enriching their pockets during this period. God is seeing u all. The millions they are being paid to campaign for him is actually tax payer’s money and could have been better spent in solving this country’s numerous problems….instead of being dashed out to them..
our celebrities should learn to stop looking for the highest bidder cos this is our country and our future shouldnt be bought… they should be all about the credibility of the candidate instaed of looking for who will pump money into their pockets…

Once again, thumbs up to our celebrities who are working hard to inspire and ginger the youths to see nigeria as our own.. slowly but surely we’ll get there..we”l get to the point where we’ll be able to stand up and demand a revolution and a complete turn around of our failing system of governance… the awareness is being created and very soon we’ll get there….

    • Duvy April 4, 2011 at 9:22 AM

Big up yourself TY! Thanks Bella for making my morning. This is truly inspiring.

    • Bola April 4, 2011 at 12:54 PM

    • THE AMAKA April 4, 2011 at 1:55 PM

is it ever TY Bello post that comes here that people will start talking about her HAIR? her hair of all things? why not go to google, or find out for yourself, or HECK, just love your own God-given hair! sheesh. im tired of this TY Bello and hair talk. is it every post you expect her to come out with her hair regimen???

      • Salama April 4, 2011 at 5:32 PM

The Amaka, you need to chill out. TY Bello’s hair is very beautiful so it”s only natural that people will admire it and want to replicate it. People keep asking because the girl is not talking! If Bella had asked about her hair regimen on our behalf *hint-hint Bella*, we would have gotten an answer and nobody would be bugging right now. So, if I open up google what should I type in to get an answer, o enlightened one? “TY Bello’s hairstyle”? If she hasn’t spoken about that exact hairstyle publicly is it on google that one can find it? There isn’t very much info on TY herself talk less of her beauty regimen. FYI, I’m a natural sister and I absolutely ADORE my hair. I also like versatility and keeping things fresh so am always on the lookout for great natural-looking styles. TY’s afro is fierce and I definitely want to cop that hair that’s she’s using…now, if only she would cooperate by giving us the name of the hair, all would be well!

      NATURAL BEAUTY

    • omosewa April 4, 2011 at 6:48 PM

This is a well planned, written and delivered song for the Nigerian, it just goes on to say that we have more than we can imagine in the inside of us to make this country great. If we are proud of our country , we should do all we can to stop all the corruption, deceit, selfishness, hatred, laziness and we should work together to bring out the best in this country. We should vote the candidates that we know can and will work…….I am the future, I am the nation and I am part of this.

    • Tee3 April 4, 2011 at 7:04 PM

Love the song. Raised the hairs on the back of my neck. Not only does it feel prophetic it gives me hope. I miss home soooo… very much and want to come back.

Bella, out of curiosity, why are you affiliated with Scientology (the ad. at the bottom of page). Do you pull resources from other religious (if you want to call scientology that) or political avenues?

    • omosewa April 4, 2011 at 7:04 PM

This is a National song. It is a call for sanity, selflessness, togetherness, patrotism. Nigeria depends on you and I .I believe in you.I am the future, I am the nation and I am part of this.
