Yay!
We are really excited (as always) to bring you our Style Features.
BN Collection to Closet focuses on showcasing fashion pieces off the runways and lookbooks being ‘rocked’ by our favourite stylistas.
All previous editions of BN Collection to Closet have featured African designers and our designers will continue to remain the focus of this feature.
However, we will periodically add an international twist to the style mix by showcasing our African ladies wearing pieces by international designers.
Today, we have a beautiful mix of high fashion looks from some of the world’s most coveted brands – Miu Miu, Lanvin, Alexander McQueen, Marchesa & Roksanda Ilincic.

Didi Ocheja attended the 2011 ARISE Magazine Fashion Week wearing this beautiful lilac Miu Miu Fall 2010 Ready-to-Wear appliqué dress, the dress caused a major sensation last year when it appeared on a record-breaking 12+ magazine covers (see below) plus in countless editorials. Didi paired the dress with a striped bag from her accessory line – Didi Isah. She added a saucy touch to this sweet look by rocking a pair of red slingback sandals.

At the Miss Nigeria 2010 event which took place at De Marquee in Lagos, Nike Oshinowo-Soleye stood out in this silk midnight blue jumpsuit from the Lanvin Spring 2010 Ready-to-Wear collection. Nike styled her look differently from the model by allowing the asymmetric detail to drape down her shoulder – definitely a fab touch. She completed her look with a black Chanel clutch and Nicholas Kirkwood sandals.

The AMFW Awards 2011 inspired lots of high fashion looks including this one by Deola Bali. Deola looked beautiful and svelte in this grey Alexander McQueen Jewel Intarsia Knit Dress. Her long wavy locks, bright smile, gold & silver clutch and gold Christian Louboutin Ulona heels completed her look.

For her pre-wedding dinner in 2010, Bella Disu chose this stunning Marchesa Spring 2010 Ready-to-Wear piece. Bella looked gorgeous in the knee-length silver dress with white draped chiffon sleeves. She added a quirky touch with her Judith Leiber Strawberry Cupcake Minaudiere and finally completed her look with two-tone platform slingbacks by Christian Louboutin.

Lisa Folawiyo totally “owned” this look from the Roksanda Ilincic Spring 2010 collection. The teal dress with a standout asymmetric skirt and dramatic back detail (Click to see the back detail) was a great choice. She accessorized with black bandage sandals, metallic bangles and an art deco bracelet.

All around Fab!

@Nino, and everyone else interested in finding premium designer clothing at 50-70% off, theoutnet.com is the place to shop. Unfortunately they don’t ship to Nigeria, but if you have anyone in the UK or the US you can have them deliver to, I’m sure you can find a way to get it home to you.
Happy shopping!
