Channel O Music Video Awards 2011 hosts - Banky W & Dineo
On Monday 14th November 2011, BN published the list of winners for the 2011 Channel O Music Video Awards which took place in Johannesburg, South Africa.
As promised, here are the photos from the event! Experience all the action from the red carpet to the stage.
Nigerian stars Flavour N’abania, Ice Prince, Banky W, Tiwa Savage plus all our brothers and sisters from across the continent! Cabo Snoop, Zakes Bantwini, KB, STL, Weza, Samini and so many more.
The performance set at the 2011 Channel O Music Video Awards was HOT! From Angola’s Cabo Snoop to Ghana’s Samini and let’s not forget Flavour N’abania, Tiwa Savage and all the artistes who participated in the “rap battle”.
The big question from our last post was “Where was D’banj?“, in case you missed it, the Nigerian megastar was honoured at the event with a Special Recognition Award. In addition, he was nominated for several other awards and won the Most Gifted Male Video award for his “Mr Endowed (Remix)” video.
According to the “gist”, D’banj arrived at the airport to head for South Africa for the awards and was surprised when he found out an economy class ticket had been booked for him so he refused to fly.
Well, Channel O has spoken and their account of events is different.
Below is the official word from Channel O.
“Channel O can confirm that Nigerian artist and Special Recognition winner D’Banj was booked to fly to this year’s awards in Business Class as are all winners in this category. Unfortunately, as a result of him missing two scheduled flights, it was no longer possible to accommodate him in Business Class and he was therefore unable to attend the event.“
Whatever the case, we missed D’banj at the event! Hope he can make it next year.

Eku looks georgeous!!!! love the hair, the dress and the make up is great for her skintone, unlike some other looks i’ve seen that , personally, i think were too bright for the outfit. this dress speaks enough, no need to clash with super bright lips. love it!
I criticize naija entertainers a lot about their dressing but its obvious that they are more fashion forward than their contemporaries in other african countries so kudos to them!
