Bella is a bit conservative so i dont know if you will post this, but in the midst of extreme poverty, unpaid salaries, Thisday/the Nigerian government finds a way to pay Bill Clinton’s speaking engagement fees. I find this painful and brutal.

      • oto February 24, 2012 at 6:50 PM

thisday newpaper is a private firm owned by nduka ,it has nothing to do with nigerian govt. they can pay whoever they want.

        • madman February 25, 2012 at 7:22 AM

Keep telling yourself that. Newspaper business in Nigeria does NOT make money as it used to before. I have been to several Nduka parties and I know that the money he spends is NOT solely from “business” — the government has a hand in it as he is seen as an ambassador the promotes Nigeria’s good image. I’m not judging, just questioning if its good investment to bring Clinton and Blair when millions of Nigerians wallow in extreme, growing, and severe poverty.

Look deeper and you will see our government money involved

not only can this day pay whoever they want….I believe you are looking at this glass half empty instead of half full….Bill Clinton has a wealth of knowledge and alot to offer Nigeria…What you fail to realize is that one woman could have heard something spoken by Bill or Cherie and it could trigger something that could be the beginning of the end of poverty in Nigeria…so my dear friend…learn to start looking at the glass half full…. my 2 cents :D

Is it just me or Dora Akunyili is wearing diamonds and sapphire? I thought she was a public servant? Surely her salaries as minister of information and nafdac dg are not enough to enable her indulge in such luxuries…

      • Ngozi February 27, 2012 at 10:35 PM

@xoxo- What has her salary got to do with it? FYI, she is married and her husband is not doing badly, she is a Prof, an author, a consultant and has a lot of streams of income……please know that we civil servants of today can afford the good things of life without indulging in corrupt practices. Thank you

        • xoxo February 29, 2012 at 9:20 PM

Ngozi- i hear you. I’m sure Nigerians know that behind every corrupt Minister or governor or LGA chairman are tonnes of civil servants. Lagos state civil servants for example, throw the most lavish parties (Gbenga Ashafa, HMO etc etc) In developed Countries, your lifestyle must correspond with your earnings. So what if her husband is a professor? ”not doing badly” wont buy you that kind of jewellery!
