In anticipation of Ghana Fashion & Design Week (GFDW), organisers have collaborated with photographer Kyoko Munakata and London-based Ghanaian designer, Beatrice Korlekie Newman for a promotion campaign titled, “licorice”. Featuring Ghanaian models Soraya Akua Khalil and Phyllis Tekyi-Berto as the two protagonists,  Director, Daryl Rita Osekreh , creates an atmosphere masked by dim lights which the models warm up with their illuminating ebony skins. The sophisticated contemporary silhouettes of Korlekie‘s  add sweetness  to the dark atmosphere; exploring the appeal of bitter/sweet flavour of the licorice plant.

Woow this is waaaay overdue, A new day a New dawn with Ghana’s fashion industry. Ghana has suffered its fair share of a shady industry, its about time they take control of their industry, as a Nigerian studying in Ghana I will not miss it for anyone. The venue and the shoot alone tells me this is not your average Ghananaian show….Bella I hope you can cover this for us to see this show

the hair is too loud, takes away from the aesthetic of the collection, one would think they were selling hair. a simple high ponytail would do
