An Entertaining Music & Fashion Gathering to Support Charities! Photos from The Switch’s Fashion Meets Music & Ball for Charity Events in Port Harcourt
On Friday 27th July 2012, The Switch – a non profit organisation aimed at supporting charities and charitable causes by raising funds through entertaining events – held its Fashion Meets Music event at the Presidential Hotel, Port Harcourt. The event was also a platform for budding artistes to showcase their talent as well as perform alongside some of the industry’s veterans.
Some of the artistes who performed include Iyanya, P.R.E, Mr. 2 Kay, Timi Kay & Kay- X and Yuggo and 4 fashion designers – Skillas, Julspuma Couture, Swank Creations and Cool Beans – showcased some of their most creative and outstanding pieces.
The next day, Saturday 28th July 2012, the Ball for Charity event took place at Brookstone Secondary School, Port Harcourt. The event was a football tournament featuring 8 teams who paid a fee to participate and play to help raise funds for a chosen charity – 50% of the funds raised from the football tournament as well as funds raised from The Switch…Fashion Meets Music event, was donated to a charity while the remaining 50% was given to the winners of the football tournament.
On Saturday 11th August 2012, The Switch Charity team accompanied by some performers at the Fashion Meets Music show and the coach of the football tournament, visited the University of Port Harcourt Teaching Hospital to show their love and support for people living with HIV/Aids as well as donate some items them.
According to The Switch Charity rep, the event was an astounding success with the support of Aristokrat Records, Agape Birthrights, Delight Zone, Grafton Records, T-Wids Entertainment, Silverbird and Wider Perspectives Limited.
