“I’m Not Married” – Nigerian Music Star Tiwa Savage disclaims Wedding Rumours

Last week, we received so many phone calls asking why “BellaNaija didn’t feature Tiwa Savage‘s wedding“. These rumours were sparked after a photo of Tiwa in white lace iro and buba alongside her manager Tee Billz in a traditional kaftan made the rounds online. We did our research and confirmed that Tiwa and Tee Billz did not tie the knot recently so did not run a story. The photo was actually taken at an event on the same day as the 2012 Eloy Awards in November 2012 which we covered on BN.

Last night, due to persisting rumours, Tiwa decided to clear the air via her twitter page by categorically stating “I am not married“.

Tiwa’s alleged groom is Tunji “Tee Billz” Balogun . Tee Billz is a popular figure within the entertainment circuit as he currently manages the careers of major music stars including Tiwa and D’Prince. He has previously worked with Sauce Kid and Dammy Krane. He and Tiwa co-own 323 Entertainment which they founded after they met in Los Angeles a few years ago.
The bond between the business partners is obviously strong based on previous statements made by Tiwa and also their various public appearances together. Here is what Tiwa had to say in her 2010 interview with NotJustOk – “I also have to say a big thank you to my close friends and family because it is not easy but their love has kept me going also Tee Billz because he is more that my business partner, he is a dear friend and my mentor and none of this would have happened without him. I wanna thank God; HE is my everything.“
While they have confirmed they are not married. They did not deny that they are in a relationship. Whatever the case, wishing them all the best. Check out photos of Tiwa & Tee Billz below.
