“Twisted Romance” – Ghanaian Design Label Mina Evans presents its New Collection Lookbook
Posted on Thursday, March 21st, 2013 at 11:33 AMBy Jennifer Obiuwevbi
Delicate, inspired with a hint of enchantment. The Twisted Romance collection by Mina Evans brings twisted pleats to life. The collection inspired by the the image of deserted curved beach chairs played upon Minas’ creativity to recreate the curves with fabrics representing the chairs. This process led to the main focus of the pieces; the twisted pleats.
The designs have a delicate mix of colors in purple, mint, greens, purples, teal, beige and white for flattering skirts, classic dresses and separates. Known for its tie & dye fabrics, the same pattern was used here in purple and blue giving it a comforting familiar look. The Ghanaian label also used silk, organza and chiffon to compliment the hues.

beautiful! i love Mina Evans ‘s designs
Me too…I can definately WORK some of these and really like the colours!
It looks very mediocre to me… but then again, mediocrity is the new trend.
It seems like everyone nowadayshas a fashion line and everyone is a designer, haba! LOL. These clothes look like something a junior apprentice sewed; plus the designs and style is already saturated. Can we please get something fresh, stylish and iconic?
Sorry but its not worthy of a collection 2 me. The finishing isnt 2 par.
My opinion.
What finishing? Lmaooooooooo… oversabi
Activate interlock! Dynotherms connected! Infracells up! Mega thrusters are go! LET’S GO VOLTRON FORCE!
Please, I’m not trying to be a troublemaker or anything I SWEAR, I’m genuinely curious. How can people spot things like finishing and stitches from the pictures? I’ve been wondering
Now ure talking! Not the pointing out flaws without evidence.
I seriously wonder myself. I’ve come to learn that even God isn’t loved by all so haters gon always hate.
Wow, so you can see that far,….. Hope u are using your powers for good
why are you ppl replying to this girl…the world is a very harsh place and too many people are angry and take out their anger on ppl.
anyway sha i can see myself wearing most of her collection…great job
Some people are just outright down to bring others down…what’s up with the finishing? how can you even tell on a finishing merely looking at the pics..beside what finishing exactly are you talking about Tori Olorun?! na real over sabi
nice..
Em, this designer does not seem to have finesse and it shows in the color mixing and some styles… Fashion is not a joke, plz.
Hawt! Hawt! LOVE. WANT.
I think it’s pretty overall
i like everything… and I’m a guy… so… yeah!
Lol…what’s up with the gender declaration though?
who asked you?
Lol. well we all have different “styltitude” but honestly, I can’t imagine walking into someone wearing any…except for #11&12 (I can pardon) of these outfit….
As much as I’ll like to say Mina’s work is great i cant. There is just something really wrong with this collection. I feel the name twisted romance is so powerful and i expected to see that in the collection.
This is really basic
Boring every season… Most african women have all this designs/cuts in their wardrobe, d styling is poor aswell. Just improve biko
Apart from the chiffon see-through cpmbos i love them all…..quite Pretty!
@ Yve LOLLL
Need a photoshot in such environs…likkey!

I guess it’s safe to say that this peplum trend isnt going anywhere anytime soon?
Honestly I tire its like overeating and its getting to the point where I want to puke
Love d model
I like her hair
I loveeeeeee it very chic!
babe you should have just used eku edewor as a model and then boom, positive feedback from the first comment to the last…
Why Eku? Are there no other beautiful ladies out there? Welldone Mina, its not easy to follow a passion. Just pick the positive bits from the criticisms and come back better and stronger, you can only go higher!
Lol! How random is this comment? I actually think this model’s skin tone suits the shoot better. Go Mina!
whimsical! but its been done already
i think thats what all the people above meant to say, in as much as i like african designers, most of their works are inspired by off the peg designs
I love love this collection…
Elegant and Classy all the way :p
