Deadly Explosions Claim Lives in Mombasa, Kenya

An explosive device was thrown at passengers at a bus station in Mombasa, Kenya on Saturday, killing at least three people and critically injuring 20. On the same day, another explosion occurred at a luxury Hotel, also in Mombasa. Although there were some damages to the Hotel, no casualties were reported as of yesterday.
Mombasa County Commissioner, Nelson Marwa, told The Guardian that the attackers at the bus station were riding a motorbike, and threw a grenade at the crowd of people there.
Security guards at the Reef Hotel, where the second attack occurred, reported that although they had prevented the attackers from entering the premises, the suspects threw a bag that contained explosives into the compound.
No one has claimed responsibility for the attacks yet, however; Kenyan authorities have blamed previous similar attacks on Somali terrorist group, Al-Shabbab, which is linked to Al-Qaida. Al-Shabbab was behind the attacks on Westgate Shopping Mall in Nairobi last year, which claimed 67 lives.
