If there is one artist who we crush on her style it has to be Janelle Monae.

With constant looks that slay, the music star seems to be going through a cape-inspired phase and we absolutely love it.

Last night Janelle stepped out for the Gordon Parks Foundation Awards Dinner and she looked amazing in a black crop top and a pair of red Vatanika Pants but we were blown away by her accessory of the night – a red and black embroidered Tracy Reese from the brand’s Fall 2015 collection.

She definitely made the look work for her as she finished it up with red lips, Jennifer Fisher Jewels, and a Rodo clutch.

She rocked an impressive dramatic cape with her simple crop top and pencil skirt pairing from H&M.

She accessorized with Nicholas Kirkwood shoes, a Rodo clutch, and jewelry from Jack Vartanian, Carla Amorim, and Le Vian.
