BN Exclusive: Yvonne, Majid, Annie, Halima, Gbenro, Toke, Kenneth, Ufuoma & Efya bring Star Power to the Lagos Premiere of “Single & Married”

The city of Lagos was agog with excitement on Friday 28th September 2012 as some of the biggest names in Ghollywood and Nollywood, gathered at the Silverbird Galleria for the premiere of Pascal Amanfo‘s steamy flick “Single and Married”.

Bringing star power to the premiere were, Bursting Out star, Majid Michel, Tinsel star, Gbenro Ajibade, comedians, Seyi Law and Elenu, Ghollywood sensation, Yvonne Okoro, music star, Eyfa and Mr Nigeria 2010, Kenneth Okolie, among others.

BN Buzz from the Premiere
Ufuoma Ejenobor’s Red Carpet Baby Bump Debut – A few months ago, news went viral that Nollywood star, Ufuoma Ejenobor was expecting her first child with her Advertising Executive husband, Steven McDermott, who she wed in a private ceremony on the 23rd of April 2010. Ever since then, we were yet to see the 31 year old “My Mum and I” star, at social gatherings sporting her bump but at the Lagos Premiere of Pascal Amanfo’s “Single and Married”, Ufuoma graced the red carpet in a white halter neck frock, which she accessorized with a purple clutch bag and brown pumps. She was all smiles on the red carpet flaunting her baby bump.

Riding Solo – Nigerian actress, Annie Macaulay-Idibia and Mabel Makun, wife of top comedian, AY, were riding solo at the movie premiere. Annie and Mabel, who are always spotted with their better halves – 2Face Idibia and AY Makun, chose to attend the premiere alone. Proving they could also bring star power, Annie dazzled in blue shirt dress paired with black pumps and snakeskin clutch while Mabel wore a see-through black dress and mini skirt, accessorized with a yellow clutch bag and Christian Louboutin pumps.

Fashion – Black was definitely the most seen colour at the premiere as Ghanaian actress, Yvonne Okoro, on-air-personality, Toke Makinwa, Nollywood actress, Halima Abubakar, designer, Wana Sambo, Ghollywood actor, Prince David Osei and Sylvia Nduka showed up in black ensembles. The stars who truly got us smiling with their outfits were, Single and Married lead actress Yvonne Nelson, who shimmered in a silver bandage dress, designers, Yomi Casual and Steel, who’s also an artiste, in dapper check suits and Miss MBGN 2012 contestant, Onuoha Grace, who looked simple and fab in a yellow top with blue pants, which she accessorized with a red bag, pumps and gold wrist watch.

Mabel luks gr8, why is Yvonne lookin lik dt? nt feeling her abeg!

  • Madam the Madam October 11, 2012 at 5:01 pm

The only two people giving me life on this red carpet are:
Yvonne Nelson. I mean, homegirl is a PROBLEM…in a totally good way. Serious babe!
Sandra Akobiah – Beautiful woman. Love the outfit too.

Gbaymee Philips??? – Did she rebrand herself and come out with this one as her new name. BTW, she has some serious bobble head action going on. Not remotely cute.

I love me some Yvonne Okoro, I think she’s beautiful but girllll, that mismatched foundation just isn’t werking!

Mabel Makun, that pink bra isn’t flowing well with the rest of your outfit, either.

Someone out there is named “Pencil”????

  • Neka October 11, 2012 at 5:04 pm

      • Sunshine October 21, 2012 at 9:31 pm

OMG!!! I mean, I know we black women love different styles, why does it seem to me that almost everyone is going for the mami wata look. Too much fake hair people!!!! Time to stop now and grow your own!!!!
I guess I haven’t seen Halima in a while, I did not even recognize her, I hope she can try to eat more healthy and exercise. I don’t mind people putting on weight and sometimes its just in the DNA but she has to try harder…..anyway, she’s still 100% a better actress than Yvonne Nelson could ever hope to be……..

  • bukky October 11, 2012 at 5:15 pm

    First to comment yay!!!

  • Moi October 11, 2012 at 5:24 pm

Mabel Makun, Sylvia Nduka and Stephanie are soo on point, beautiful look. @ Efya- who did your make up for you? he he!, LWKMD. @ Uleoma- You are obviously not at that event with the same motive as others, I feel you have ulterior motives with all that flesh flash.

The guy tagged pencil needs a sharpener.

  • Cool cat October 11, 2012 at 8:54 pm

Wow, the profanity in this is shocking but intriguing.

Whoever is advising Mabel makun to expose her brassiere is just stupid and wicked.

Halima Abubakar kudos for dumping the blond wig, now drop the pout please, and the nude lips

    Ratchet looking carpet pics

  • Mma October 11, 2012 at 8:59 pm

Some very well dressed people I must say.

… nigerians now have the nerves to watch…….i want you to fuck me……….

    • Iris October 12, 2012 at 10:33 am

It’s not so much the ‘nerve’ hun. We probably always did – just behind closed doors and then went to church on Sunday to scream Hallelujah. I’m sure a lot of sexually abused children can enlighten you about the depraved things going on in their homes (and it didn’t just start today so it must have started back then when we ‘didn’t have the nerves’ as you put it)

  • Chinny October 11, 2012 at 9:14 pm

Everyone now wants to be fair….I suspect Yvonne Nelson n it sure doesn’t luk gud on her* notinterestedface*..ay is slowly showcasing his wifey-kudos 2 dem n she alwas luks gud on d red carpet.halima halima halima ur obviously trying too hard jeez.ufuoma I see u,cngrats…..

  • nancy October 11, 2012 at 10:40 pm

ok what kind of outfit is Uleoma wearing???????? so u call that cloths? all the shape of her vagina is showing. eehhh u should have just come naked nah. some people like, yvonne okoro especially: tooooo much makeup, she looks toooo white on the face and u can tell compared to her arms. As for Halima Abubakar: she looks constipated, so get for pose so for show sey u look fine n her dress i dont even understand it. inshort the whole red carpet thing is just a disaster. just a hand full look ok. • u-jay October 12, 2012 at 12:58 am

the photographer needs to be sued .what the hell is this?

  • OhpuhleeseSpareMe October 12, 2012 at 1:31 am

Oh puhleese spare me all this overrrated stuff. We want better movies worthy of a international film festival, not this hoopla stuff.

BTW Anika Erskine you look good. I remember you from CTK days (Christ The King School). How is your brother Joshua (sschwaaaa!) and Edward (bulawayo) doing?

ps: The ONLY good actor in this is Chris Attoh all the rest are first name LUKE – last name WARM

  • versence October 12, 2012 at 8:52 am

Nawa oooo! everybody on the red carpet, hmmmmm! Lol @ CEO….BREATHE INDEED! Nigerians can do better with the foundations. Am pretty sure, we will all look prettier without foundation atleast! Ladies take note! From A-Z is a mess, i must confess. WORST RED CARPET EVERRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR

  • huh? October 12, 2012 at 8:55 am

  • t.t. October 12, 2012 at 11:17 am

why does ufuoma ejenobor look like uche jumbo?

  • @ajiriavae October 12, 2012 at 12:31 pm

I want to believe that the problem with the pictures is the lighting. Because how do you explain 90% of the guests looking tacky and ‘not so clean’.

  • LOUDA October 12, 2012 at 12:39 pm

One two buckle my shoe – Sefya where is your other buckler, where are your other fake nails, why is your horse hair looking so off, Weavon Nelson – moderation is still d key.

  • Queen B October 12, 2012 at 12:47 pm

Mabel Makun, your crave for attention is really getting out of hand, like really, you keep exposing your bra, like really,SMH.

  • PJ October 12, 2012 at 1:13 pm

I think award for best dressed, best hair, best make up, best pose and overall best attempt at coming to a film premiere should go to Sandra Akobiah. Who is this lady? Simply chic and elegant. Effortlessly

  • tybay October 12, 2012 at 1:59 pm

All i have to say is that dayo ephraim looks like a male doll to me. There’s sometin about the way he dresses and poses that strikes me as being odd…

  • T.C October 12, 2012 at 3:48 pm

    Halima be careful

  • konnie October 12, 2012 at 4:37 pm

A great improvement on some of the pictures I have seen lately. A lot of these women are beginning to work out. it always shows on the way your clothes fit and particularly the knees.

Hair is the next thing to address.
Those manes are fearsome. Go to a different hairdresser if your present one is unimaginative.

  • phabulousity October 12, 2012 at 5:28 pm

    one word for HALIMA *UMGBEKE*

  • rynyx October 12, 2012 at 6:45 pm

Am i d only one who thinks there is a lot of foul language in this trailer?????i wonder what this is aiming at. As for the red carpet, i choose to stroll away and be mute…….*Phhheeeeew*

  • Helen October 12, 2012 at 8:15 pm

Uleoma wasn’t like this at the event at all! As a matter of fact, she has been interviewing all the guests on the red carpet (for the AY show) before this picture was taken so obviously all the lightening from the camera and behind-the-scene preparation had weared her out and she probably opened her jacket to ease herself from the stress.
Before you ask me how come I know this info, it is because I was there when she arrived and we set up the banners and cameras together, that was my first time of meeting her & I must confess she’s a very sweet girl. Please leave the young girl alone before you tarnish her Image here.
I work for channels TV by the way, so, NO! I wasn’t paid to write this.

    ~ Helen

  • Dan October 12, 2012 at 8:28 pm

I attended the premiere and I don’t think the cameraman did them justice in these photos. Even yvonne wasn’t looking her usual self here… The flash/lightening was probably too much in the arena.

  • Aduke October 15, 2012 at 7:49 am

    Im guessing very bad photography, cos this one na wa!…but still majority no try at all! The only two looks im very much loving n looked well n stunning are;
1.Sandra Akobiah- Luv luv luvvv from head to toe! Elegance!!
2.Sylvia Nduka- Very lovely n tasteful!

  • adelegirl October 15, 2012 at 10:33 am

For me, Sandra Akobiah stood out best:
Sylvia Nduka looked great as well. Love the shoes and the hair.
Wow, that’s Yvonne Okoro? Didn’t recognise her. Why did her face look so plastic? Loved the dress and the shoes though. Looks like she slimmed down some.
Annie Macaulay-Idibia, looked a bit tacky with the tattoo on her right leg and the shoes – they looked cheap.
Didn’t even know that was AY’s wife until I saw the name. The outfit made her look cheap. She’s a lovely looking woman with a banging body but she should stop trying to battle with the young tartlets and just focus on looking classy and elegant. That bra-showing nonsense is just not it.
Uleoma, your boobs propped up and out like that is NOT a good look. Reminds me of the fuji song “se coste lo wo s’aya” and the “coste-bra” look used to be synonymous with uneducated paraga selling women and omo-alatas of those days.
Rica Adepoju how did you go out of your house with feet like that and you even posed on the red carpet?! Apart from the inappropriate foot wear, couldn’t you have taken care of your feet? Washed and moisturised them so they don’t look so dirty and dry as if you’ve been wandering in the desert?
Ugh! I am so tired of all the horse-tail wearing people on the red carpet. We Africans know how to take a fad to the extreme. Ladies all looking fake with their long horse hair. Try some originality. You can get human hair in more original –looking textures like Sylvia’s tight bohemian curls. Also ask TY Bello, all that hair isn’t hers but you would never guess. Must it be so obvious that the hair you are rocking isn’t yours?

  • swish October 15, 2012 at 2:27 pm

worst red carpet ever, horrible outfits everywhere and whats with the overly long weaves? smh

  • al October 15, 2012 at 11:27 pm

Ok HALIMA! a little fashion advice for you. Just a few tips to enhance what God gave you.

    1. You have short arms therefore avoid 3/4 or long sleeves at all cost. Try capped sleeves, shirt sleeves and strappy dresses

    2. You are blessed with an ample bust but sweetie high-neck and slashed necks make you look top-heavy.How about V-neck,square or round-neck styles? This will balance the top-half of your body with the lower-half and elongate your lovely neck.

    3. Your face is broad and beautiful but my dear the middle-parting of the weave and all that heavy hair on either side of your face is doing you no justice! Let’s see those lovely eyes and amazing cheekbones! Put your hair up ( to give you extra height) and off your face so we can see all your unique African beauty!!!…….

That’s all- God bless you in all your endeavours!

  • Violette October 16, 2012 at 1:14 pm

    hmmmm wonders shall never end…..
    horrible evrything.
BN pls stop that rubbish you write only first names of people on the red carpet. Who’s Mirabel, Stephanie…… mtchewww

  • babious October 16, 2012 at 5:03 pm
