Idk why Africans STAY hating. “her tummy is too big”, “Autotune is too much” “she can never be like Tiwa Savage” ….. “Too much energy in the video”….. Really????

      Have. SEVERAL. Seats.

The girl put out a quality song and video that is different from whats already out. Do we want to keep listening to the same types of music and sound? Hell nah. This is something different. She aint trying to be like Tiwa, she’s being LOLA RAE. And who gives a flip if her roots are ghanaian, she said in an interview she was born and raised in Nigeria for 16 years, so she identifies herself as a Nigerian. People need to get off looking at stick skinny people and calling anyone with a real shape “Fat” or “pregnant”. This is a beautiful, curvy woman who is doing the damn thing that alot of us cant even do. For your information, it was an AMERICAN lady who even introduced me to this song, not to talk of all the cameos she has supporting her in the video, so she’s breaking barriers already. Keep doing your thing Rae! Africans will always hate on you no matter how well you do. Prove them wrong by topping the charts boo 🙂

Ahahn see Rachael Garton oh! Im surprised she is even 21, thght she was younger

    • Mama Put

      January 26, 2013 at 10:37 pm

I agree that She looks much older than 21. But not in person, it’s the make up. Her older sister Becky is only 22, she’ll be 23 in July. So, she’s not lying! Good work Rachael! You’ve gained a lot of weight but it suits ya

  13. Demmy

    January 9, 2013 at 2:24 pm

Wow she looks older than 21 though. But she’s really pretty and I love all the choreography. x

@maimuna why so aggressive?! Babs in entitled to have an opinion….I didn’t read any insults about Lola, the comment just said she looks pregnant, which she does! Her dress is too tight for someone who doesn’t have a flat stomach. As for the song I like it, very catchy and could do very well with the right promotion.

    she’s 21. it’s just the makeup.

auto tune? HONEY SHE WAS ON X-FACTOR! and Simon loved her. she really can sing…

      January 10, 2013 at 8:21 am

oops she was on BRITISH GOT TALENT! and Simon loved her and invited her to audition for x-factor which she turned down, she really can sing…

    • Adeola

      January 10, 2013 at 10:32 am

Just because she was exfactor doesnt mean she can sing, nonsense people reach the finals of those fake shows all the time! KMT
However on the flip side she ACTUALLY sounds like she can sing, but the fact is she is using a lot of autotune on this song and its annoying, why are you upset by someone saying she shouldnt use it?

  19. Nice Anon

    January 9, 2013 at 6:21 pm

She did great. The concept is nothing new but was well delivered. *thumbs up* The song is a jam though.

    Tiwa’s competition is here .lol

  22. sigh

    January 9, 2013 at 7:39 pm

She isn’t any competition for Tiwa savage. She is just prettier in my opinion. There was too much energy in the video, i wish i could tell her to calm down a little bit. She needs to work on her voice (too much auto tune) and her lyrics. I was very impressed when i first heard kele kele but wasn’t too impressed by this. The perfect blend would be Tiwa-Lola. tiwa savage just the way she is, but with Lola’s face perhaps?

I am not the fittest in this world, but if i was going to be in a music video, id at least dress to suit my body. She should work on that too. Once again, she is very pretty so we thank God for that. her face would keep her somewhat relevant. no? *ahem*

    • Jessie

      January 11, 2013 at 10:46 am

I agree with you ‘Sigh’… I can’t see any competition for Tiwa here, they are two completely different artists, also this girl is part Ghanaian AND part white….is everyone getting excited about this average song because she’s lightskin?! I recall other new female artists such as Sheyi, Niyola and Emma Nyra releasing songs way better than this song but I don’t remember them getting so much love…or people defending there use of autotune OR the fact that they have a big stomach and are out of shape, OR the fact that they are blatantly LYING about there ages! Sounds like the typical ‘white God’ African complex….*rolls eyes*
For the record I am bi-racial, but I calla spade a spade!

The video is average but a very good introduction for a new artist. She tried, not sure about her styling, they made her look waaaaaaaaaaaaaaay older than the 21 years she is claiming to be… *side eye*
Nice video, ok song, I’m sure she will do well….

    January 9, 2013 at 8:37 pm

Nigerians are our own personal hell. Rachel IS 21, if the make up make up made her look older, that’s fine. This is her first video, her first work in the industry and it is pretty good in my opinion. There is always room for improvement, it only gets better from here. Let’s stop bringing people down with the bitter comments on here. It’s getting rather old. As for her body, there’s nothing wrong with it either. Chill out

  24. Yola

    January 9, 2013 at 8:47 pm

The song and video are nice, would like to see less of the Beyonce impersonation with the wind machine, vegas clothing and facial beyonce-eque facial expressions!,..and her tummy is a bit big but that’s nothing a good pair of spans can’t fix 😀

here is her British got talent audition with her group.

    • Adeola

      January 10, 2013 at 10:35 am

Erm…she was singing a bit of key and out of tune…..sounds like shes made huge improvements in her voice, im sure she was nervous so maybe thats why it wasnt that great.

      January 10, 2013 at 4:16 pm

Sorry do i know you? I noticed you’ve only been replying to my comments (NO OFFENSE). I am not upset about the auto tune comment. I was just calling a spade a spade. she can sing, end of story. Thanks for your time, it is well appreciated. Now let’s do something productive with our day, BN won’t pay us for our comments. cheers

just like her BGT audition got ruined with the dark girl’s voice, this video was ruined with her doing etighi. the folds is just unforgivable and they should have editted that out. otherwise, she’s a great dancer, gorgeous, less of the autotune pls

  32. Midae BG

    January 11, 2013 at 7:35 am

Chei!!!!!!!!!!! People and their microscopic eyes. I had watched this video like five time w/o seeing the stomach until I read comments and was like huh?? what stomach and I paid attention to it. Can’t people just be happy for another person. Go do your own better and bring let us see, tchewwwww. She did an amazing job, big ups to her and the only way for her to go from here is up. So please keep your excessive unnecessary criticism to yourself.

    • Seye

      January 26, 2013 at 2:24 pm

Thank you o, my brother(or is it sister?). I watched d video and didn’t notice any stomach or “lack of waist” or anything. Was just listening to d song and enjoying the dance steps…
People are expert at criticizing, and that’s why many people never get to do anything creative. She did a great job, but there’s always room for improvement. Period.
