  6. Sarah Adebayo

    May 20, 2013 at 2:05 pm

Let me just say it and be hung: Ghana folks ( men and women) lack that touch.. truly.. they are not chic.. truly Nigerians are on top in West Africa.. they have that taste.. I don’t know how to explain it.. but, they have swaaaaaaaaggg! no hating though.. but, it is the truth.. just compare.

    • Africhic

      May 20, 2013 at 2:47 pm

And this needed to be said because?

    • Sexxie

      May 20, 2013 at 3:06 pm

Why? Is it because they r not half naked or sagging their pants?

    • hayzey

      May 20, 2013 at 3:17 pm

I’m Nigerian, I live in Accra, and I put it to you that you, Sarah Adebayo, are delusional.

    • Ama

      May 20, 2013 at 3:34 pm

And how many times have I logged onto bellanaija and seen naija celebrities looking atrocious. Halima abubakar anyone?. Or is she now from Ghana? @Sarah, the only swag you have is in your delusional head.

    • Dlapikin

      May 20, 2013 at 4:51 pm

Really? I found them better dressed thant what I see at nigerian awards here… They clearly know to press their outfits and nobody showed up in daytime attires.. BTW I’m not Ghanaian nor Nigerian…

    • rebellious child

      May 20, 2013 at 6:34 pm

stop hating and masking it with ” i still love them attitude.” First of all most ghanians unlike nigerians always rep africa whether through clothing or songs, as you can see most of the clothes they wore especially the black dresses by the women and men were mostly made by african designers. It is nigerians like you that keeps spiting hate, when all you need to do is appreciate the works of your brothers and sisters in africa so that we can all raise eachother up. There are things nigeria needs to take clues from ghana, and vs versa. stop the hating cuz at the end it only makes you look stupid and very ugly. Love yourself and appreciate those around you, for in reality they could care less what you think.

    • Mariaah

      May 20, 2013 at 7:02 pm

Madame Sarah!! Your comment is atrocious, mundane, ridiculous and bottom-line foolish!! Truth be told, this crowd looks better than some of our Naija red carpet event so go suck on a lemon..

    • OmoMakun

      May 20, 2013 at 8:37 pm

Don’t sleep on Ghana o! They are coming real fast and if we Nigerians keep having the atitude that you are obviously having, we will get left behind in the dust. In my opinion their dressing was pretty good, not tacky like some of our beloved nigerians…..mschew!

    • Winny

      May 20, 2013 at 9:22 pm

That is a bold face lie, Nigerians lack tact on Red Carpet, unkempt weave, too much makeup, too much flesh, bleached skin, need i say more. I am Nigerian and that is the plain truth.

    • Flue

      May 20, 2013 at 11:38 pm

And what has the swag done for us? Has it helped us become a better nation.Has it fixed roads and provided health care and basic social amenities?See Ghana with limited resourced yet their economy is booming. Be there making noise. Iranu atiOshi koshi!

Most of You nigerians feel like the world revolves around you. Is there a blueprint that says compare Ghana to Nigeria whenever you see them? Why do some of you insist on denigrating Ghanaians to feel validated? Kmt choose another country and compete with them.We don’t give a rats ass about you. *excuse my french*

R2Bees,is really a great artist.Heard his song (Walahi) and was totally blown away….some artist have been so underated…,few of them like General pype, solid star etc have not been given much accolade…With the likes of Lynnx,Davido, their trash call song, will be thrown in our face!

    May 20, 2013 at 10:06 pm

stop insulting ghana. have you seen the hiphop awards (the headies) red carpet? that’s the worst. the pictures look normal, the dressing and people at the event look normal compared to nigerian red carpets. nigerians, we have to face the fact that ghana is probably even better than us in some areas.

  41. Sandra Lola

    May 20, 2013 at 10:12 pm

Yvonne Nelson is sucha babe! Gurrrrrrl

  42. Meeeeeee

    May 21, 2013 at 12:07 am

No offense, but they do look tacky. @Dawn, it’s the other way around. Ghanaians compare themselves to Nigerians. Anyway, I don’t how someone would look at these pics and say that Yvonne Nelson looked trashy. She was, by far, the best and most classy dressed lady in these pics. Gbenro killed it! That’s fashion. When I saw him in his plaid suit, I thought to myself, “This na the Ghanaian wey try pass to me.” Then I saw his name and said, “No wonder” Kudos, though. I heard the event was a success. Samini no just try for that bird nest wey e put for im head. Smh

    May 21, 2013 at 8:19 am

To all those people claiming that Ghanaians are “classy”, you’re talking cos Bella didn’t post all the pictures. Check out the pictures on Don’t come here and tell lies. For Efya to make the Best Dressed list, something is wrong w/ the Ghanaian fashion industry. Some of the ladies dressed so well, though. Nana is very beautiful.

  46. Lecker

    May 21, 2013 at 8:40 am

Comparing us to Ghanaians in this context is absolutely horrendous… and that’s an obvious truth

its funny the amount of hating there is, ghanaians dont hate on u as much us u guys do on us probably its cos most of us dont care. anyway, The Ghana music awards has been going on for 14years now and boy does it get more exciting every year. with all ur talk, u don’t even have such a music event that stands out. Maybe u should concentrate on that than to be hating on us.

    • hmmm

      May 31, 2013 at 4:00 pm

plz tell them for me…..everyday soso hating ssooorrrr,,,,,

Nigerians need to understand that every country in Afriva have their standards, they all can’t be like Nigeria. Nigeria is the America of Africa just as Nollywood is the Hollywood of Africa.Other AFrica Countries look up to Nigeria,so it’s foolish to expect Ghana’s red-carpet to be all glamorous.Nigerians grow up and stop comparing yourselves with every damn country in Africa it’s foolsih,if you have nothing reasonable to coment just keep quiet.

  55. vino

    July 31, 2013 at 10:13 am

Everyone wearing black like it’s a funeral. Comparing Ghana to Nigeria is same as comparing Canada to USA they’re not ranks. Without the presence of Nollywood there the crowd is worthless most of them were paid to be there anyways
