The main bowl of the National Arts Theatre, Lagos was filled with heightened activity as thousands of budding dancers stormed the venue for the Lagos auditions of the family dance competition, Maltina Dance All season 7.
At the end of the grilling process eight finalists emerged and will get the chance to battle for the grand prize of 6 Million Naira, a brand new car and the title of Nigeria’s No.1 dancing family. The eight dancers who were selected by the judges are;
These contestants will undergo a comprehensive medical screening test which is currently ongoing and will be the basis for final selection. This is mainly due to the intense physical and mental ambiance of the competition.
The first day of auditions witnessed dancers between the ages of 5 – 12 and above. They competed for prizes ranging from brand new Home Theatres, flat screen TV sets and Black Berry phones. For the 5 – 12 category, Sunday Dolapo, a 10 year old student from Kingsplace Secondary School emerged the winner. The runner ups were Bankole Olamide (11) and Ibukunoluwa Agbedo (10).
For the 30 and above category, 35 year old Oluwakemi Adetula emerged the winner, while Rasheed balogun (31) and Ibrahim Rasak (42) came in 2nd and 3rd place respectively.
Day two was was more intense as dancers between the ages of 13 – 19 and 20 – 30 battled it out. At the end of auditions, in the 13 – 19 category, Tolu Okelowo (19), Daniel Bernard (17) and Daramola Oladimeji (19) came in 1st, 2nd and 3rd respectively. In the 20 – 30 category Gloria Idundun (24), Aniebet Emmanuel (22) and Austin Ashor (22) came in 1st, 2nd and 3rd as well.
