Woody Allen’s Adopted Daughter Vividly Details Years of Sexual Abuse by the Legendary Director
“When I was seven years old, Woody Allen took me by the hand and led me into a dim, closet-like attic on the second floor of our house…then he sexually assaulted me”.
You’ve probably heard the sexual abuse story of legendary American director Woody Allen and his adopted daughter Dylan Farrow, but not quite vivid.
On Saturday, Dylan gave a graphic explanation on her years of sexual abuse by her father via New York Times.
All grown up, happily married and living life to the fullest, Dylan recounts the sad and “disgusting” story.
She revealed Woody had been abusing her for a long time and would take her away from her mother, siblings and friends to be alone with her.
He will often stick his thumb in her mouth, lie under the sheets with her only in his underwear, place his head on her naked lap and breathe in and out.
Dylan thought the abuse was “normal”, maybe that was how “fathers doted on their daughters”, until she asked her mom if her father did the same to her.
After the incident became tabloids headline, Woody accused Mia Farrow (Dylan’s mom) of planting the abuse in Dylan’s head and calling her a liar for defending her.
Mia got custody of Dylan and Woody was refused visitation rights but due to the fragility of the “child victim” as explained by the prosecutor, criminal charges were not levied against Woody.
Dylan says the fact that he got away still haunts her till this day. She shares that she cut herself and stayed away from men because she was terrified .
On why Dylan can’t let the incident go after writing about it in an article for Vanity Fair in 2013. She says “What if it had been your child”.
She also pointed out some actors who have starred in his productions including Alec Baldwin, Emma Stone, Scarlett Johansson and Oscar Nominated Cate Blanchett.
According to a rep for the director, Woody will write on the story soon.
