OMG – Ladies emancipating themselves and doing great things. Well done Chimaamanda!!!!
Damn, I love smart ladies. Tell me how a man can ever disrespect such a lady?
I keep saying it, finding your sense of purpose and service in life may be the greatest acquisition…and meaningful mission you undertake…ever! And in turn may serve as what you ultimately bestow upon the world, and yourself…as your greatest testimony and living legacy.
People, TAKE charge of your personal challenge…give it your all. Own the road you choose to travel…it really is yours to realize and celebrate…make life your finest cause.
Damn!! I get TURNED ON by smart ladies…

Chimamanda calling the bible a story book, defending homosexutuals, refusing to bear her husband’s name. Hmmm I rest my case. What shall it profit a man to gain the whole world and lose his soul. End time,I don’t envy your success at all. The bible talks about 2 types of success in Joshua 1.8 . Anyway by their fruits we shall know them.

post my comment, people need to know who they choose as their role models. Don’t lead people to hell, please. Heaven is real and Jesus is coming back!

@ refusing to bear her husbands name– all I can say to you is gender archaic slavery mentality. She has every right to decide what she wants to be called. She had her own ‘identity’ before she got married so why can’t she have one when she is married. I guess you are one of those people that think marriage is the be all and know all for women; and you probably carry the notion that women are worthless until they have their husbands name slapped at the end of their name. Or a women answering her husbands name means she is more respectful. Oh I see you expect her to be like the other fellow Nigerian women who think slapping the title Mrs. at the beginning of their name and answering their husbands is an automatic ticket to paradise or it’s like winning a $500 million lottery. Every human being has a right to decide what they choose to be called.

Donald-Landon! The truth is that bible is everyone manual in life,it is the standard set by God himself just like the Quaran. How can one support homosexuals, calling the bible a story book and campaigning about that man and woman are equal? God has set man above woman and no one can change it. However,it total madness for anyone to support gay and all those evil stuffs. This is worse than days of sodom and Gomorrah.

The truth is that it is ignorance that destroyed sodom and Gomorrah . Count yourself lucky to be born after that purge. However ignorance is a natural cull you might not escape that which you propergate.

i dey here you lie from the pit of hell……am born again spirit filled, tongue talking christian and i dont share ur viewpoint…..she only presented the homosexuality story based on a real life story…..the truth is satan has twisted some of them from childhood and some people have shown those tendencies from way back but that doesnt mean its the way God designed it…the spirit of Christ never seeks to correct without leading the offender to a relationship with christ……i am totally in support of not allowing gay marriage in our society as it is against our various religions….at the same time am totally not in support of sending them to jail for 14 years……sadly alot of u who have made noise about the gay people are just self righteous individuals who have no personal walk with God…..what is the venom with which u attack them like your sin of adultery or fornication is small in the eyes of God? when u correct in love the way Christ did, you will look at them with the eyes of mercy the way God looks at any sinner……..pls nobody shld even make that immature juvenile comment that u are saying so cos u are gay…lol hilarious bullcrap……God hates homosexuality and i tell that to anybody who cares to listen but to say send them to jail for 14 years cos they are gay is so not what Jesus would do……as for the change of name i do not know her reasons and we can only judge her if we see her doing things that contradict her marriage status…since i can categorically say you have no idea whatsoever what her relationship with her husband is then it will be better u just zip it…..

Congrats girl!. So happy for your achievements. May God continue to bless your creative efforts , while other pathetic ones bury their lack of talent in scriptures too massive for their one cell brains to comprehend and like 2 year olds , just practice echolalia with the text.

It hilarious the way my people use the context of the bible like a book of spells. The bible is a living document, you don’t need to quote scriptures you are suppose to LIVE IT, apply it to life. Just repeating the words and flashing out quotes does not impress anyone. It the same as a student would repeat mathematical formulas but face with a real maths problem cannot solve it or a kid repeating the alphabet but cannot tell which one comes before or after. Carry go chimaamanda , you are a role model, a real life inspiration. Congratulation!!!

well, as writer I have great respect for Ms Adichie and I also respect her values and opinions. However, this values and opinion remains exlusively hers and they dont go beyond that .they are personal to her. Every on should question the status quo and decide what is best for them. chikena !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I don’t recall Ms. Adiche saying the bible is a story book, [give us the link] on not wanting to bear her husband,s name has anyone ever questioned Joke Silva, is it a crime to keep your private life private in Nigeria? She did not deny her marriage, dats wats shld be important to us. She does not support homosexuality but rather she,s against the deprivation of our basic human rights, today its homosexuality, do u know what it might be tomorrow? Remember a corpse is like a log of wood until a dear person dies. This young woman has done well for her self and deserves to be applauded.she did not also say she will not respect her husband oo, she,s only asking you guys to see women as humans and not objects to be owned The very bible u quote also tells me that n i paraphrase” a woman,s gift makes way for her and adds no sorrow” biko

I love this woman, always have and always will. She’s just an inspiration, honestly!
