Delta State Governor’s Aide Sunny Ofili & Traditional Ruler Die in Auto Crash Today

Asaba (NAN) ― The Special Assistant to the Governor of Delta on Information and Communication Technology (ICT), Sunny Ofili, on Saturday died in an auto crash at Utulu near Asaba.

Ofili died along with the traditional ruler of Issele-Uku, Obi Henry Ezeagwuna II.

They died along the Benin-Onitsha highway when the vehicle they were travelling in rammed into a stationary lorry loaded with granite.

The deceased were heading towards Asaba from Issele-Uku in Ezeagwuna’s jeep.

The car in which they were trapped was said to have somersaulted after hitting the lorry, and it later caught fire.

The accident caused a traffic gridlock on the other side of the highway as vehicles were forced to use only one lane.

The Secretary to the State Government, Ovouzerie Macaulay, confirmed the incident.

“It is very sad and shocking,’’ he said.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) was established by the Federal Government of Nigeria in May 1976 to gather and distribute news on Nigeria and cover events of interest to Nigeria at the international level for the benefit of the Nigerian Media and the Public.

Sunny’s death is a rude shock and a very sad one. Sunny is one of the bright, focused and gentle minds we have in this Country. To lose him at his prime is, to say the least, shameful.

Look at how Sunny Ofili died! How often do people die in an auto accident and got burnt beyond recognition? He was basically cremated on scene. But the truth is that Sunny Ofili represented evil hampering the unity and advancement of his own Igbo people. You can oppose me all you want; but there must be a reason why this evil man, Sunny Ofili, died the way he did. He went too far senselessly denouncing and campaigning against his own stock from across the Niger.

Sunny Ofili was a Delta Igbo, but hated the Igbo from the South East so much that he spent his entire adult life vigorously championing campaigns against any form of unity, cooperation or collaboration between the Delta Igbo and South East Igbo. He openly or publicly attacked highly respected Delta Igbo officials who are members of Ohaneze Ndi Igbo, an apex Igbo cultural group that bonded for the protection, survival and advancement of Igbo in Nigeria. He hated South East Igbo with a passion for no just reason. The Mighty hands of God Almighty simply bore down on Sunny Ofili as punishment, and terminated his relentless anti-Igbo campaigns aimed at fracturing Igbo unity. I hope this will teach his disciples or those like him a lesson. Certain things you simply cannot get away with, especially toying with what God had put together. God is behind the natural history of the Igbo people or any tribe or group of people.

Death is certain but the bible speaks about untimely death. Sunny Ofili paid the ultimate price for campaigning to destroy what God Almighty had carefully put together. Recall also, that Christine Hewitt (a Jamaican journalist and entertainer) said that the bible, which contains the words of God, was the worst book ever written. In June 2006, she was found burnt to death beyond recognition in her motor vehicle, just like Sunny Ofili. It seems evil people die this way. Doubting Thomases, wake up! There is God.

It will make sense to send his charred remains to the Edo Kingdom where he claims affinity or ancestry. That will definitely make him happy wherever he might be.

Sunny Ofili your death is a pain that will never go away. You died too soon and so painfully. I am so saddened by the news of this passing away. Sunny had so much to live for. He was a goal getter and one who believed in Nigeria so passionately. He will be missed especially by his wife and lovely daughters. May his soul rest in peace and may God grant his family the strength to bear this painful loss
