On September 28 2013…
BN Weddings: How has married life been?
Yawa & Yaw: Hahaha a lot work! You hear before you get married that it really isn’t easy, but you never really process it till you are actually in it. However, it becomes easy when you place God first in your marriage…the work load lightens up.
BNW: What have you learned about each other (yourself and your partner) in the past year?
Y & Y: WE have learnt to be more understanding and patient with each other.
BNW: How do you keep romance alive?
Y & Y: We love to travel… visit new places and experience different cultures. This gives us the opportunity actually spend time some more alone time. However, spending time together watching our favorite TV shows is the one thing we look forward to at the end of each weekday 🙂
BNW: Looking back, if you could change anything about the wedding planning process what would it be?
Y & Y: Omg.. nothing!!!!!!..it was such a perfect day and the happiest day yet of our lives.
BNW: Do people treat you differently now you’re married? Do you feel different (being called Mrs…)
Y & Y: Not really. We have amazing friends and family members that understand that we place ourselves first in all things and that we are our number 1 priority.
Yawa (Wife): What I have noticed more of…is that people actually call me by my new last name more often than my first. It actually sounds nice and some getting use to lol.
BNW: What advice do you have for fellow newlyweds?
Y & Y: Don’t sweat the small stuff, forgive easily, be patient and love unconditionally. Most importantly, don’t have high expectations from your partner, they are only human and sometimes can not meet those expectations, so enjoy the little moments and always remember why you said ‘I do’ on your big day.
BNW: For the single people out there, any advice for those seeking partners?
Y & Y: Be patient and always have a positive attitude and energy, it will eventually land you an amazing person.
BNW: Best advice you’ve received …
Y & Y: “Enjoy each other.”
