PDP is the Only Party that Has Interests of Women at Heart – Dame Patience Jonathan

Dame Patience Jonathan 2The First Lady, Dame Patience Jonathan, on Friday, said the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is the only party that has the interest of Nigerian women.

The first lady, who made the remark at the PDP Presidential Campaign Rally in Enugu, thanked the Igbo people for casting their votes for President Goodluck Jonathan in 2011.

She enjoined women to vote for Jonathan for the second term because he would further uplift their status and presence in government.
She added that “PDP is the only party that has the interests of women at heart.”

“Women should vote for a president who gave us 35% affirmative action and the opportunity to be heard.

“Women who are yet to collect their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) should endeavour to do so to be able to vote for the president in February.’’

The first lady recalled that in 2011, she and her husband were in Enugu to solicit for the support of the Igbo.

She said “we promised them that they would not enter the villa through the backdoor and we fulfilled our promises.

“Today, we have come again to solicit for your votes for better benefits to Igbo and the womenfolk.’’

She expressed confidence in the ability of President Jonathan to make the country better and more developed.

What project or emblem will she be known for, at least we know Maryam and Stella. Not some small minute project that majority of Nigerians will not feel. I doubt she even did anything in the north and south west. Tell us your plans and be open to debate to over them not some cheap command to vote.

Senator Al-Hassan is just there wondering what rubbish is spewing from this woman’s mouth. Also in my opinion this 35% “affirmative action” is bullshit, appointments should be by merit, put the best people forward, not 35% to women and 65% to men. How is this having their best interests at heart??? I hope umunwanyi Enugu are able too realise this.

After you have successfully ridiculed the office of the first lady? Nbanu! As a “woman” you could have help your husband build Nigeria but you are too busy playing first lady which is even an invisible role. We saw patience more than we saw her husband please take a seat ma.

This woman should sit her illiterate behind down. The fact that one still hears her voice after all the damage she caused her husband’s administration baffles the hell out of me. I really pity GEJ.

@Banjo…. And what do you think she did for Igbo people?
She was simply making a campaign speech and
Igobs were her audience. Am sure her speech would sound similar if she was speaking to an Hausa or Yoruba audience. Stop thinking she has done anything for Igbos. She is a Nigerian first lady and not an Igbo first lady!!!!!!
