Aisha Buhari Says “PDP is Using Religion as a Cover to Loot Nigeria”

Apc Women rally: From left: Governor Adams Oshiomhole of Edo State and wife of APC presidential candidate, Hajia Aisha Buhari, during Apc Women rally, at Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium in Benin City, Edo State.

Aisha Buhari, wife of APC presidential aspirant, Muhammadu Buhari, has accused PDP of using religion as a front to loot Nigeria.

She made this statement during an APC rally in Benin city, Edo State held at the Ogbemudia Stadium yesterday, Vanguard reports.

Here are excerpts from her speech:

“They have been painting Buhari black using religion, but I am happy today that Nigerians have discovered that PDP is using religion as a cover to loot Nigeria. They have grounded the country. Whoever talks to you about religion in this country is a liar, he wants to loot. He wants to loot the little resources Nigerians will enjoy. Say no to religious politics, they are using it to deceive the people.

When my husband is elected, insecurity, girl child trafficking, suffering of widows in the South-East will come to an end. There must be a cultural design that will accommodate widows in the South-East and a policy that will make a girl child comfortable in this country. Our girls do not need to leave Nigeria to prostitute abroad, it is not our portion. Our portion is to train our children to be future leaders.

Girl child trafficking can be considered as one of our problems in the South-South zone. I know there is unemployment here too. Unemployment is the major cause of brain drain and girl child trafficking. Gen. Buhari is a leader, he led Nigeria years ago and he is coming back now to sanitise the system. For those who are saying that he is coming to jail Nigerians, I don’t know what their fear is.

They should not be afraid because we are all yearning for change. There is insecurity in the country, bad healthcare system, decay in the educational sector and there are other basic necessities that our people are lacking. I think Nigeria needs Buhari now.”

she had an opportunity as a former first lady to change things during her time, sex slavery, child trafficking was high then because girls where scared of marrying men they do not love? how many schools did her husband build in his time as a head of state? how many time did she come out to promote girl education or gender equality? have you even been to the north? they have the highest rate of VVF there why? the only weapon that can change the world is education and not prison.

“That some people you can’t mention” is first lady and not anyone else. What is wrong with her? FYI, the majority of Nigerian women married to men of power are like her or worse. So, a good representation. I thought the first lady, according to “the woman of poise” husband is not supposed to have a place in his government; what is she doing frolicking with “men” in campaigns?

I blame my Yoruba people for making a 150 cattle rearer a presidential candidate. A single man with baggage more than that of an entire nation.

how many of your Muslims sisters are in school ? which religion practice early marriages most in Nigeria ?was it goodluck government that introduced early marriages or the believe by Muslims that ladies are meant to be wives, slaves to men and just bear kids for them? why didn’t buhari condemn yehrima or other prominent men that marry girls below 15years? why didn’t you speak out about gender equality when your husband was a head of state? why did he preach about sharia? why couldn’t your husband build schools when he was a head of state? madam why didn’t you help the girl child education? some of your brothers are the richest in Africa and yet the north is the poorest even in terms of education? your young girls are suffering due to early marriages, gender problems and education what did you do to help as a former first lady?you had your opportunity of changing things in your time as a first lady but you couldn’t , too bad.

      March 20, 2015 at 9:57 am

      Hi there,
Valid questions but try to get your facts right.

”why didn’t you speak out about gender equality when your husband was a head of state?… your young girls are suffering due to early marriages, gender problems and education what did you do to help as a former first lady?you had your opportunity of changing things in your time as a first lady but you couldn’t , too bad.”

Aisha Buhari has never been first lady. As head of state, Buhari’s only wife and the first lady was Safinatu Buhari. Aisha is Buhari’s second wife, whom he married after his divorce from Safinatu in 1988.

Aisha has never been a first lady. Buhari ruled from 1983-1985 and he got married to Aisha in 1988, biko get your facts right.
Lol asking Aisha why she didn’t do this and that is like asking your mum why she hasn’t helped girl child education and child trafficking and your Dad what he has contributed to finding the abducted chibok girls, in fact all those questions you asked just direct them to your parents and see how much sense you made.

Aisha was being realistic and that is how the world is. No country is crimes free but the prosecutors don’t go unpunished. If we must live in a near crime free environment PERPETUATORS of crimes must be punished, emphasis on Perpetuators cause Mama Peace made it sound if every citizen will be jailed whether guilty or нет. Now at this point can Mr president and wife return from their fairy land and join us on Earth?? GEJ once said he’s looking forward to a Nigeria were there will be no prisons..#dropsMic&walk away#

    1. the first lady when buhari was there was his ex-wife. He divorced her because she pleaded on his behalf for Babangida to release this anuofia called Buhari from prison. talk about pride. If Babangida had killed him like others they would have said his wife didn’t do her wively duties, she did and got divorce as her esteemed reward.

    2. Aaisha Buhari , those of us from South-South do not blame you. You will stop prostitution. Oniranu. Those girls who prostitute have a choice. The small small hausa girls that are sold to older men and dumped when they get VVF from having kids too early in life however do not. Face that work first before you come and insult south south people.

    3. I thought you told us you would only receive guests if you become first lady. your husband also assured us that there would no longer be an office of the first lady. you people haven’t even reached there yet you have been making noise up and down. we are getting you.

All of a sudden madam Buhari has started speaking abi? The impact of mama Peace is felt everywhere. She might not speak English the way you want her to, she may not carry herself the way you want her to but that’s because she is real and she does not pretend to be someone she’s not. Millions of women relate to her. Grandmothers in the village, market women and even city women everywhere can relate to her. In my opinion, this is why we are seeing reports of madam Buhari speaking these last couple of days. And please madam Buhari, the rot in this country started years before Jonathan became president. His predecessors, including your husband are responsible for that. When your husband campaigned in 2011, did he go to the south? Madam queen of religion. Now because he is desperate for power, he is going to the south and wearing our clothes. What do you expect me to think? What was his reason for not campaigning in the south? It wasn’t religion I’m sure…….mschewwwww…..Now some tailor has put you inside blouse and “2wrapper” and all of a sudden, we are all one. If APC wins, I hope that we will still be one when you people start handing out the government contracts and transforming Nigeria in 4 years. Oh yeah and since your husband is such a powerhouse, I hope that he will outlaw your useless perverts from marrying our underage girls and destroying their future. You go tell me weda na Jona start prostitution for Nigeria. Infact, Jonathan is the reason why no English team made it to Champions League.

Aisha Buhari get your facts right
    1. Prostitution is not your problem, the girls are well over 18 and they have a right to what they choose to do with their bodies. Now Female Genital Mutilation was popular in Edo State in 1999 and in that Administration it was addressed and a law banning it was passed.
However child marriages are popular in the North infact it is embedded deeply in your religion it is the sole reason your husband and many others like him have kept silent. I take this very personal because I understand what you are trying to play at especially when you choose to visit Edo State. If your husband who speaks of change has never not for one second condemned child marriages and neither have you, then please remain silent. Before you are bothered about girls sleeping with who ever they choose to sleep with you should speak to your own people and tell them to pass laws banning child marriages. Charity begins at home. Like someone said it is very obvious that your husband and his party are feeling the competition from Patience because suddenly you are everywhere speaking and campaigning.

Not every prostitute is over 18. Some prostitutes over 20 are still forced to prostitute. They are made to swear stupid oaths and threatened. So I think prostituition is a valid point! Let’s not forget trafficking too.
Again I ask what has Jonathan done about child marriage? In his 6 years in seat what has he done? When child marriage was brought to light with all the various campaigns what did Jonathan do? Isn’t that North part of nigeria? Doesn’t he have jurisdiction in Northen Nigeria?
Buhari was a president in the 80s. In that decade most women from all regions of Nigeria married early. If you know people that married in that decade, check their ages.
Now isn’t it change that Buhari has been preaching all along? You ask what has he done? Vote for him to give him a chance to do something!

Please void yourselves of any bias, get your facts right, desist from baseless arguments, and hold on to the truth. Watch the video and hear what she actually said.

Mrs Buhari should know & not “think that Nigeria needs Buhari now”. I am a firm supporter of GEJ. Yes, he has made a lot of mistakes but he has also made some good choices. Nobody is perfect. I am a firm believer that charity begins at home. Mrs Buhari should have started this campaign for her hubby way before now especially at the grassroot level to gain ground. Pls correct me if I am wrong but is there any legacy that they both have to show for the years they have been out of office. Be it a school or a scheme to empower people. I am igbo by tribe & I find it very difficult that a man who receives millions in “salary” every month for several years cannot save but rather borrowed money to pick the pres. ticket for his party. Bro. & sis. Mrs Buhari cannot condemn what their religion agrees with I.e “child marriage” She will incure the wrath of her people. Here in Jos this election is btw christians & muslims. The day Buhari came to campaign a lot of pple did not open their shops because of fear but when GEJ came, in fact come see hold up. I don’t know how true this is but I was told by someone that prophet muhammed married a 6yr old girl. Hmmmm prostitution is a relative term. What of the “runs girls” & “aristos”
