Uche Jombo Says I ‘Have Never Taken Money from any Political Party…I Don’t Want to Lose My Right to Question People about their Statements’

Kcee & Uche Jombo - The Redsheet Magazine - September 2013 - BellaNaija 02Nollywood actress Uche Jombo had quite a bit to say this afternoon about the political situation in Nigeria.

She shared on her Facebook page:

Please NOTE this is not about APC / PDP or who you are voting…..(file under what we shouldn’t use to campaign as girl – child trafficking is an advocacy I support and can tell you it’s sensitive) this was sent to me

Concerned Nigerian gender activists have called on the women of Edo State to forgive the unguarded comments recently credited to Mrs. Aisha Buhari, wife of the APC Presidential Candidate, General Muhammadu Buhari.

Mrs. Buhari had in a campaign rally for her husband’s presidential bid in Edo State over the weekend had described the women of Edo State, as “prostitutes” claiming her husband’s administration will stop the prostitution by Edo women abroad.

In a swift response to Mrs. Buhari on Monday in Benin, Sarah Obozuwa, Founder of the Edo Women for Change (EWC) called on Edo women to forgive Mrs. Buhari. “Aisha Buhari was born on September 29, 1979. As of today, Mrs. Buhari is only 35 years of age. She was married to Buhari in August 13, 1989, at the age of 9. This means that Buhari at age 47, in 1989 was having sex with Aisha Buhari at the tender age of 9, an underage according to the constitution of Nigeria. So Mrs. Buhari is a victim of sustained childhood rape and her outbursts are understandable”, she said.

Speaking further, Mrs. Obozuwa said: “How Buhari got Aisha Buhari pregnant at age 13 is a chilling story of a Buhari who defiled Aisha as a little child while she was visiting Zulai, Buhari’s eldest daughter who was her playmate. It is ironic how such a traumatized woman now stands at the vanguard of stigmatizing fellow women.”

Uche Jombo

A few minutes after she followed the post with another one saying:

As a supporter of all advocacy for women. … be it domestic violence, child marriage, women rights or what have you.i stay out of politics but… i shared the last post when I saw it and made my research… i repeat I don’t care about APC or PDP …. have never taken money from any political party because I don’t EVER want to loose my right to question people about their statements and if the first lady made that statement I will still post it as i don’t like using stereotypical term in addressing ‘issues’ ….if you insult me on my page I will simply block you and not sweat it but it wouldn’t stop me from sharing my thoughts and beliefs or my love for A better are free to Google the speech.‪#‎UJR

I like she said she didn’t collect any money because nollywood and their campaign these days you never can tell. Oh I remember she did that nawa festival thing for Edo child trafficking so because they know it will get her to respond they forward the statement to her? Uche I know it’s an advocacy you support but PDP is still using you.

Bruno, get your facts straight. Aisha is in her forties. And please remember what role the Hausa culture plays. .Aisha never mentioned prostitution in her rally. Get the video too. You should be too intelligent to just accept any information dished out to you.

Anyone who believes that Aisha Buhari is under 50 is a joke, and shouldn’t be taken seriously. Na eye problem abi brain problem? Next!

It is a pity Ms. Jumbo did not explicitly state what her research revealed. I take it then that she agrees that Mrs. Buhari was born in 1979.
Mrs. Buhari does not look 35. A lot of the pictures we see are old pictures (same as the press does with pictures of Femi Falana).
The best indicators is that she is in her mid-forties. Some articles say she was born in 1971. Which makes her 18 when she got married. Let’s see what she says about this.
Maybe we can add her birth certificate to the WAEC certificate they are asking from GMB 😉

To marry at 18 is very acceptable even here in the Usa and in most part of the world. In fact, in the olden days men married from 16 to 18, it is only recently that people started marrying at 20 or 21, the delay due mainly to higher education. If we consider that in their culture 18 is very respectable for women. That is not pedophiling. Mrs. Buhari did not call Edo women prostitutes. She said we should address the exporting of women to prostitute in Europe, it is well within her right as a future First Lady. This scourge is a major problem for Nigerian women that are collectively looked upon as of easy virtues when they are traveling.
Regarding Uche not taking money from politician THAT IS A BIG FAT LIE!!! I can categorically say she did for her movies. Not from the parties but from politicians. SHE DID! People should be careful, the wall has ears and the truth is bitter.

    1) High rate ISN’T they are ALL prostitutes.
    2) Buhari DID NOT marry his wife at the age of 9 please according to them. Let’s be very sure of what we are passing before typing. When did he divorce his 1st wife again to marry This wife? And you are so dang sure she is 35? 35?
    3) ‘Victim of sustained childhood rape’…. I don’t even know where to start from. See ehn, just have a nice day!

    Ridic at its best.

    March 24, 2015 at 5:40 pm

Uche, you didn’t do any research. If only you’d tried. If only.

Madam Buhari was misquoted, go look for the speech if you care. Secondly, she didn’t marry her husband at the age of 9 (people are terribly stupid – Madam Obozuwa,I’m looking at you) and where did you hear that she’s 35years old?

I’m laughing out loud here at Uche Jombo’s ignorance. Same way Stella Damasus cried about #ChildNotBride on YouTube without doing proper research as regards what the NASS members were on about.

All These Politicians and Their Scandalous Life!!….. It Is Well ooo!

  7. NagosBigBoi

    March 24, 2015 at 5:45 pm

One other thing: her speech in Edo state was blogged by BN. She never called women of Edo state prostitutes. It is a known fact that a lot of unsuspecting Edo girls end up in Europe (specifically Italy) being forced into prostitution by sponsors who lied to them about getting them good jobs. Mrs. Buhari was referring to that. A lot of those girls are made to swear to juju by their sponsors and believe they will die if they disobey or run away from their sponsors. All of this has been reported by the foreign press. There are even documentaries on it.

Mrs. Jumbo your research should have showed you that they were less than truthful on what Mrs. Buhari said about the Edo prostitution issue. You will screw up your good advocacy if you let yourself be used. You should be more informed than this given that this is your pet cause.

Thanks. Campaigners have been known to discuss issues relevant to the environment they are currently campaigning in. Unlike Patience who discusses the Buharis and how APC should be stoned. Don’t we all know that sex-trafficking is more prevalent in Edo than other states. Talking about it to me shows that they are truly concerned about regional issues. Uche, you fall my hand biko.

    2. She never called all EDO WOMEN Prostitutes! ABA! People should fear GOD O! She talked about the HIGH RATE of female trafficking in Nigeria especially in EDO state (THIS IS COMMON KNOWLEDGE!)

    3. I watched the video, so you can quote me!

I guess this outburst is because you want one of the political parties to notice you so you can be paid … Just to let all the parties know you are still available to be paid …. PDP and APC Pls take note … Because all your so-called research wasn’t done properly or they were done in your mind

    March 24, 2015 at 6:19 pm

    Her speech goes thus:

“In each Zone of the Country, we have peculiar problems, Our Problems differs, for me in this zone, Girl child trafficking should be considered one of our problems Though i know there is unemployment, Unemployment is a Major factor that contributes to brain drain and girl child trafficking, Gen Buhari is a leader, he was a Leader, he led nigeria some decades ago and he is coming back now to sanitize the system……….

……..Whoever talks to you in this country, the politician that can talk to you about religion is a Liar, He is a Liar, he wants to loot. He wants to loot the little resources you are supposed to enjoy. Say no to Politics, comparing it, matching it with Religion to decieve people.

I am here today to let the Edo women know that when My husband is Elected to be president of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, all these are going to be history, the insecurity, the girl child trafficking, suffering of the widows in the southeast will come to and end, there must be a design, a cultural design that can accommodate the widow, and then a design that will make a girl child feel comfortable wherever she is in this country, she doesnt need to leave her country to go and prostitute elsewhere, it is not her portion, her portion is to have a highly standard moral society for her to live, get married, have children, train them, train them and to support them to become the future of our Leaders”

(Cat walks outta post chewing gum loudly and giving una some major **SIDE EYE**) Yeye dry smell!

    March 24, 2015 at 6:28 pm

    **walks back into post**

The same people that will come online and yarb all the babes trafficked from Nigeria prostituting in Italy tag them all as *EDO babes*, are the same people who now want to castigate her because she notices the problem?

Ina never even happy say someone has taken the ISSUE to mind and is bent on tackling it!

(Cat walks outta post chewing gum EVEN LOUDER and giving una some major ANUOFIA **SIDE EYE**) Yeye dry smell!

Attention seeking Uche. Mrs. Buhari’s speech is everywhere. If Uche attempted to investigate anything, she would have realized the stupidity of the stamement she put out.

Yes, there are issues unique to specific geographic areas. In Edo state it is prostitution, in the north it is education, etc. I have to question the sanity of anyone who interpretes Mrs. Buhari’s recognition of a problem as an insult to all Edo women.

Yeye Uche. Better go and face your household rather than peddling false information days before a critical election.

  13. tunmi

    March 24, 2015 at 7:57 pm

How can Uche post such a statement without the utmost verification. Lambasting Bihari as a pedophile without confirming it has opened you to a defamation lawsuit. Uche, you should know better. I remember when you were so upset that a newspaper reported that you had an abortion when you didn’t. How can you do this? How can you not verify? How can you be so careless?

  14. ANGRY wagamama

    March 24, 2015 at 8:21 pm

Aisha Buhari is 44 years old.
She was born on the 17th of February 1971.
She got married on the 2nd of December 1989.
2 months before her 19th birthday!
She got pregnant/gave birth at the age of 20!

POLITICS IS A DIRTY GAME! UCHE I JUST MY OWN RESEARCH OOOOOO! Why you take commot 9yrs from aisha age nah?

Lol Nne, are you on your period? Cause there’s much to this anger. Ah!
Thanks for showing Uche what a proper research is. If they file a lawsuit against her for character defamation they’ll say APC/Buhari has come again. She should know that she is in the public eye and her utterances can be taken seriously unlike some of us.

So disappointed in Uche. Lying that she did her research. Even the most perfunctory of researches would have shown that what Mrs Obozuwa wrote was pure unadulterated balderdash and that Mrs Buhari never actually called Edo women prostitutes. And I thought you were intelligent Uche! eish! Anyway, Uche, maybe it’s “baby brain” that is making you yarn nonsense. Just go and rest abeg.
