I’ll give her a chance, wasn’t as bad as I thought although some things were annoying. I’ll watch d next episode, I think I want to watch that bolaji’s fight, troublesome human being from the beginning. It’s not easy bringing ur dreams to reality really, so kudos to Chika Ike.

I am tempted to say Nigeria’s first ratchet TV series?! Wait, that D’banj’s finding a wife scam may have been the first. But then again, ‘ratchetness’ is the ‘coko’ of reality television these days!

Chika Ike, keep grinding! I cant knock your spirit; as for the content, theme, set, contestants? Plenty question marks…

Infact, I foresee weaves flying, I see nails breaking, I see artifacts in this house mysteriously disappearing *sideeye*. Chika you may need to call this Bad girls club Nigeria :-).

YESSSS She should. I would watch. Just take out the Africa part because this is not representative of the continent. And when (not if) you want to undertake that challenge, we shall enjoy. Me too, I want our own ratchetness na. Imagine the slang and display of effizy/creativity

Biko is it only me that noticed the round belle shaped guy on her right?…is he the true definition of an African warrior? And what’s with the contrast in colour of her curtains? Pink Is all I see…love her green outfit though

It is only when the motives are clearly spelt out that we should applaud it. Thanks

Oh Chika. Girl get it together. What is the purpose of this show? Like it should be stated CLEARLY.
Meanwhile your costume is appropriate for the show tbh, its over the top local, & ratchet, exactly what this show seems to be.

    April 18, 2015 at 8:47 pm

@rocky, sorry to disappoint you I stopped watching bba since uti emerged the winner and that was few years back.

she is rachett, she is razz. but, you know who she is. does she know you? That was how ya all started with Toke. But look at Toke today. Knock Chika as you want but like play like play Iroko TV don buy her product and some people will subscribe to watch it while Chika smiles to the bank. Even if she is an aristo as some of you are wont to label her l respect her because her grey matter seems to be working. Meanwhile, You yes You are still asking Le boo for money to buy weave. BN thank you for promoting this girl. Desmond Elliot and co started like this. just go back and watch some old home videos.

Since she is NOT mentoring the girls to become the next award winning writers or presidents, a good title for the show would’ve been African Acting Divas. She could cut out that intro with all those diverse notable African women, make it acting specific, invite aspiring actresses from other African countries, add Next to the title, and maybe it will still be around 10 years from now. Good luck to Chika…

Chika Ike has a reality TV show? wasted my data watching it’s premier episode and all i can say is big ‪#‎LOL‬.
She is not an African Diva yet; she is just someone who acts, by the way it should be renamed “Nigerian Divas” the contestants are all Nigerians.

    We siddon dey look.

  30. tunmi

    April 19, 2015 at 6:41 am

Okay, having watched through it I think I want to make reviews or video reactions to these episodes. I’ll start here.

    1. I can understand why she titled it African Diva because most Nigerians, and other Africans, often refer to their countries as Africa. “I’m from Africa…I’m going back to Africa,” etc. A more fitting name would be something along the lines of Bad Girls Club Naija edition which brings me to our lovely Isio De-laVega’s post. I nominate Naija BABELs (Baddest Babes Ever Liveth). I will be tagging my comments #chikaike. I cannot bring myself to call it African Diva when most of the women are Nigerian.

    2. Sahhnnnn….I didn’t know Chika was all about culture and I love her for this. From the all-women dance group at the beginning of this video to the mansion decorated with traditional artifacts, Chika really wowed me and I did not hexperrerit. And her green outfit is gorgeous.

    3. Yeah, we are going to have to define what a diva is or does. These women are entertaining. I am entertained. I love our own ratchetness. There is nothing like it. Love and Hip Hop, LA Preachers, Real Housewives, none of it compares to our very own ratchetness. It’s beautiful. Having said that, what are these women’s plans? Some mentioned their goals but it should be a requirement that the purpose of each woman’s entry into the competition be made known, and there should be some challenge that shows that. Hey, notice I’m calling them women not girls or ladies…yeah XD

    4. I have not seen such diversity in a long time. We have all women here: lepa and orobo, dark, light, and bleached, natural hair, weave, and braids, glasses and no glasses, varying age groups, and different personalities. Hey Chika, perhaps you and your crew should develop a casting agency, and I’m serious.

    5. So this mansion has 5 bedrooms and one big bed. 1 bed for 5 women to share. And there is a mat. I love how realistic this is, I do. But they are strangers. How about bunk beds instead so each person has their own sleeping area. So many things can happen. What if one pulls a Mary Jane and wets the bed due to some psychological issue? And what about those surprise period stains? Worst of all, people exercising in their sleep. Look, I shared a bed with my cousins when we visited my grandma in Ajegunle but that was family. I believe there is room for modification.

    6. You showed food!!!! I love korean dramas for many reasons: for the story (shoutout to tvN), the pretty people, the cinematography, the clothes, and greatest of all the food. I started going to korean restaurants because of kdramas. And when I’m on the train home and hunger is shoki-ing my stomach, I peruse instagram for hashtags of Nigerianfoods and that tides me over till I get home (boy, do I miss kpomo). So you see, thank you for that 5 second clip of jollof rice and salad, not let’s do more.

    7. I love the energy from these women. That intro was beautifully done. I can see their personalities, and they are comfortable with themselves and comfortable with one another. I really do like them, and I find them relatable. And they aren’t camera shy. Speaking of which, are you guys cursed to never have a proper sound person? I know there is some physics involved when shooting indoors but if kdramas can perfect it…please ehn do something abourrit

    8. They go to the market!!!!! Honestly, this is an excellent way to export Nigerian culture. And this brings me back to the “African Diva” point. Will you guys be shooting in other countries? And do not mention South Africa abeg? Togo nko? Gambia? Kenya? Namibia? Botswana? Rwanda? I know it will cost money but there are so many untapped potential for advertisers.

I like this venture. We see average Nigerians, and I am here for it. It is madly entertaining. I laughed..a lot…with the women, at the women…it was a ball. So keep it up Chike.

Chika Ike is a trendsetter, period. It is just she does not have enough umph to do it well, but I must give it to her, she pushes it and keep setting the bar. It is unfortunate that copycats will copy her and do it better than what she started. Like when she opened Nigerians to Dubai, all of a sudden everybody was flooding to Dubai for their wedding and for this and that, but it was Chika that started it all, whether you want to give her the credit or not, she has the upper hand. What she needs is a good manager with class and style to direct her right, but girl, on her own, she is still reaching for heights. Unfortunate, some in her shoes have gone and hidden themselves in self pity since the decline of the Nigerian home movies, but there is no stopping to this babe. Chika, please keep shining and ignore the haters, abeg.

Kudos, Chika! God bless you for giving back and projecting future talents. Already routing for BRIGID. Her singing is the next ‘it-thing’ at weddings and love related events. I kinda like Mark too.
Can’t wait to see how the divas keep me glued.
Chika, be more inspired by every bashing you get on social media to do better. Go and check out the bashings Donald Trump has gotten in his life and compare his bank accounts. Bad bele is allowed. Stay focused, keep it real.

    Dear Chika Ike,
This is a cool thing you have on for these girls but it will be much cooler and original if you try not to imitate Tyra Banks and be yourself.
For the contestants please you guys should stop forming what you are not. its a REALITY show! All the best chicas. May the best Diva win!

I think it is unfair how people criticize this lady…. Can we try to be supportive sometimes. I think sh is making an effort here. Wish her well, and I hope she reaps the benefits of her hard work.
