Former Information Minister Chukwumerije Passes Away

CHUKWUUche Chukwumerije, former Minister of Information and Chairman, Senate Committee on Education passed away on Sunday at the age of 75.
According to Vanguard, he had been battling with lung cancer for a while, and died at a Turkish hospital in Abuja.
Chika, Chukwumerije’s son stated, “He died here in Abuja and was surrounded by his friends before his last breath. He has been an inspiration in ways I cannot explain.’’

News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Chukwumerije was elected a senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria in April 2003, represented Abia North Senatorial District. He served as minister of information in the dying days of the military regime of Ibrahim Babangida and later served in the same capacity in the interim national government of Ernest Shonekan.

    Yeah that was good but did you know that he’s been a senator representing Abia North since 2003, isn’t that hypocrisy? I can’t for the life of me think or see how he affected the lives of those he represented and he contested yet again this past election but lost. That said May his soul RIP
