That’s great. And while at it, can we get the air-conditioning to work properly, the toilets to be sparkling clean and fresh, and your government agencies (customs, immigration etc.) to stop harassing passengers for money? That would be nice.

My dear, I was about to ask if they had fixed all those other things first. If you cannot maintain clean bathrooms with running water. is it now WiFi that will be sustainable?

Supervisors need to ensure that the cleaners at MMA are cleaning the toilets well.
It’s so bad you smell it from customs, as you check in after landing.
I was impressed the last times I was at Enugu Airport. Very clean rest room.

…wait…is this a joke…like are you for real??? what has putting wifi at the international airport got to with this??? how about improving the general infrastructure in the aviation industry…think big sir Chidoka!!! putting the wifi at the airport is like giving a broke and jobless graduate a lollypop after he complained about being hungry…Sheeeeesh! We definitely need CHANGE…and FAST!!!!May 29th should do and come ooo…let all these desperate attempts at relevance by this ministers come to an end…

I could not have said it better @medina. Everytime i am flying to Nigeria i am always sick on arrival at MMIA.

While I agree with you that the general infrastructure should also be improved, but he is perfectly in order in this.
London underground added WiFi to many of their underground stations and it was advertised well so that people will know the availability of the service
While it might not seem much, believe me, people that need every time they can will appreciate it if it is working properly.
I have been able to carry on with work online at a few airports around the world while I wait for my flight. Even if is is to surf on Bellanaija or other entertainment websites while waiting for the flight, it will help in reducing the boredom in waiting for your flight thus increasing the whole customer experience.

While growing my mama normally says that little little things can make life more rewarding so while they should hurry up and comp[ete the new terminal they are building at MMIA and improve on other infrastructure, having a good working WiFi is also definitely a good development

to be honest, wi fi is not a priority. that airport and all the airports in nigeria need a serious overhaul. but i’m not complaining, me i like wifi.

This is a really good initiative. People from all over the world fly in and out of Nigeria for business everyday. It might actually be good for some of them to conduct business online during airport layovers and stuff. Good stuff

You could actually start by improving on your toilet facilities.

  16. jummai

    May 21, 2015 at 12:40 pm

They should renovate the dirty toilets before making Wi-Fi available.

    • nnenne

      May 21, 2015 at 11:33 pm

@ jummai…Great idea but let’s provide cleaning materials, hire real cleaners to clean the one we have now well. Their supervisors should also ensure the job is done. The cleaning should be done as many times as it’s needed for it to remain clean at all times.
Majority of our people do not really know how to clean very well. If you hire them to work in your house, you better be there to supervise them.
They will want to clean a room, or even the whole house with one bucket of water. By the time, they are done everywhere will be painted with dust, looking worst than it was in the beginning.
