    A nairalander with the username doctokwus had this to say;
    “He is trying to be clever by half to fool dimwits like himself by conveniently avoiding the amount he mentioned(N506k) is per month.In 4 years that equates to the N20m + they would receive as a lump sum.
    Yet this is the person that sits as Nigeria’s number 3 citizen! He feels every other nigerian is a dimwit,thus he can play with words,meetings and figures,just because he outsmarted his father,sister and recently senators that played into his hands.”

      I know this is off topic. But I really respect the fact that you gave credit to the person you took the comment from. Say’s a lot about your honest character. Most don’t do so, they just copy paste, copy paste. Lol

    Per year?…. it’s still too much. What are they wearing??

    We need to start having a public performance appraisal annually for theses humans, we’ve put in positions. They need to know, governance is no more a joke, they have to work for every penny now.

    Nice to know that we are on course with the process of nation building. As it is with other civilised nations, so it shall be with Nigeria- transparency and accountability in governance. God will help us.
    We only need to be aware and vigilant, we dont need to destroy our country because of where we have not got to, with the right attitude, we will get there, passing through various democratic processes. Seems the change we await is here! Please let this be real

    Kudos dear Senate President (SP), but please be advised that even twitter accounts of public personalities need to be professionally managed too. The grammar also needs to be right seeing you are a very visible face of Nigeria.

    This is exactly what we expect from our leaders-we want them to be in touch, responsive and accountable. So this is a good start. We are watching…

    with the current situation in the country,the new assembly does not have the interest of the masses at heart imagine each senator to collect 21.5m. they are there for their selfish interest.

    500k by 12 by 4 is? Let’s not be fooled. Your monthly wardrobe allowance should be 100-120k per month, or even less. What do civil servants earn?

    June 17, 2015 at 5:41 pm

    Please just scrap it. What are they wearing? I’m not sure the clothes I’ve worn all my life cost up to 500,000 sef. What do they need wardrobe allowance for considering that’s not the only allowance they are entitled to. What have they been wearing all this while? In fact, you all should start walking about naked. The better for all of us. We need to make governance less attractive so that only those who have the citizens at heart will hold political positions. Mtchew!

    I’m sorry, I call this BS from Saraki. This dude has zero integrity and only attempting to patronize Nigerians with his twit.. How about they completely cancel all the unnecessary allowances due to the austere conditions facing Nigeria.

    This is an insult to us Nigerians NASS. I did the calculation and I know that money is per month. The fact that Saraki can justify the payment for a wardrobe stipend in this way is sickening. There should never have been a wardrobe income in the first place. You have your salaries to buy your clothes with. If you want to consider the average Nigerian, think about the youth copper, policeman, security guard on minimum wage, whose yearly income isn’t up to the monthly stipend on your wardrobe stipend. If you want us to take you seriously, scrap that money. Nigerians are not stupid!

    U understand wardrobe allowance is paid once for the 4 years, same as other allowances like car allowance. others like housing are paid once a year. RMFAC says its wardrobe allowance is not 200% of their basic, but 25%. all the same downward review is needed…
