How can bad blood be nominated for VOTY, I’d have rather even preferred Blank Space. Also Nicki is right Anaconda was huge!! And about the feud white media stays so boring they just wanna create non-existent feuds, they even managed to drag Kim kardashian into their mess.
P.S Taylor swift nearly tried it, with her “women should stick together” rubbish, when clearly she has benefitted from the racial discrimination black women face in the music industry.

Abeg! Nicki Minaj needs to have several seats. I would stand with her if she was talking about any other videos, not ‘Feeling Myself’ and ‘Anaconda’

‘Feeling Myself’ was released on only Tidal, you still can’t watch the original video on Youtube/Vevo and those two platforms go a long way in these video award nominations. By the time TV stations could air the video, people had already struggled to see it elsewhere and moved along.

‘Anaconda’ on the other hand, just sparked everyone’s curiosity because of a whole lot of asses in the video. That’s why it is the most watched video in a 24-hr time span. Other than that, it doesn’t really deserve to be nominated for the Video of the Year. She shouldn’t pull the race card on this one, it just doesn’t meet the mark to be the video of the year. I didn’t think Taylor Swift’s Bad Blood should be nominated either, maybe ‘Blank Space’ which has over 1 billion views Youtube. Why has Nicki not screamed racism on everything else, just the most sought after award. Beyonce was nominated there, or she doesn’t count as a black woman?

And her claim that she wasn’t taking a jab at Taylor Swift, abeg abeg, who else was nominated in that category that “celebrates women with very slim bodies, you will be nominated for vid of the year” and who was she referring to when she said “the “other” girls drop a video that breaks records and impacts culture they get that nomination.” We know she and Queen Bey are ‘bffs’, only other female was Taylor.

You don’t get nominated because ‘you’ think you deserve to be.

Nicki, we like big butts but they don’t cut it for video of the year.

(oh damn, I wrote an epistle)

Like the f. I feel there is so much attack or pressure on Taylor swift, yet. She does not make the loudest noise. Tidal, ha, oya we need to sympathize with them and use our hard earn money – even though they don’t feed us, to buy it, NO!! For god sake there is YouTube free for all, no jay-z and Beyoncé are not going to expoliate out musical freedom. Tidal can be use to support musically challenge people and then upgrade to YouTube. Minimizing all them low quality productions from talented artist ( please tell Jay-z)

I’m too lazy and exhausted. Anaconda deserved a nomination. There were memes, copycats, videos, choreography, and vines off that video. And it was absolutely symbolic of feminism, particularly black feminism in America.

“In the kitchen scene, Minaj subverts notions of domesticity, using food for her own pleasure and even crushing a banana/ phallic symbol in her hands. It’s hard to think of a better metaphor for the dismantling of the white patriarchy than this.

When she gives Drake a lap dance, she completely dominates him as he sits powerless to her fierce sexuality. Minaj demonstrates her body as powerful, a source of pride and eroticism- all on her own terms.”

BN why didn’t you post what Taylor Swift said. She wasn’t the focus but of course, as usual, she invades a space without listening. So much for an ally.

Prior to reading this article, were you able to deduce these ideologies from watching that video? The argument of the lap dance and showing dominance as a woman means this should apply across board for strippers, prostitutes and any woman that objectifies herself to get what she wants. There are other ways to be feminists and powerful without such strong sexual connotations.
And can you say these strong statements of feminism were Nicki Minaj’s primary objectives for the video? If they were, more than half her audience were lost on that.

Miley’s Cyrus was nominated for Wrecking ball and she showed more nudity than Nicky and had less impact. Look, whether or not you liked the video it earned a nomination. And frankly, I don’t see what 7/11 is doing up there

A Fast & Furious fan? I have two friends who damn near cried to this song. Frankly they should have just let themselves feel their emotions, but God forbid it because they are guys.

I agree with Nicki !!! The nominations are based on social media impact if its not a professional category. ‘Feeling myself’ and ‘Anaconda’ each had a massive impact on social media exceeding taylor swifts ‘Bad Blood” that barely scratched the surface and was dead after a few days. I personally watched the feeling myself video more than 10 times and bad blood just once.

Beyonce the Dbanj of America. They just get nominated 4 awards based on what now? What is so special about the 7/11 video bikonu even more so about the VMA’s when it isn’t a Grammy ehn Nicky? Kendrick, Bruno mars, the weekend, ed shereen and Rihanna all deserved the nominations in their categories. Hopefully, they are awarded for their talent.
