Military Captures One Boko Haram Commander | Frees 178 Captives
The Nigerian military has reportedly captured one of Boko Haram’s commanders, and rescued 178 individuals who were being held hostage by the terrorists in Borno.
Deputy Director Army Public Relations, 7 Division, Tukur Gusau, disclosed the news on Sunday, ThisDay reports.
The report further states:
Sequel to the ongoing operations to clear Boko Haram Terrorists in its area of operations, the troops of 21 Brigade in conjunction with elements of 151 Task Force Battalion of 7 Division, Nigerian Army have conducted offensive operations along Aulari in Bama axis.
During the offensive operations, 178 people held captives by the terrorists were rescued they include 101 children, 67 women and 10 men respectively.
Three Boko Haram flags were recovered while five motor cycles were burnt by the troops…
In a related development, the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) in a combined effort with the ground troops of the Nigerian Army have successfully repelled an attack on Bita village by the Boko Haram terrorist group.
