Olu Falae’s Abductors Reduces Ransom Demand to N90 Million | Family Raises N2 Million

The unknown gunmen who abducted former Secretary to the Federal Government, Olu Falae, are yet to release him.

You will recall that they had initially requested for a ransom of N100 million. However, they have now reduced their demand to N90 million, Punch reports.

However, his family has only been able to raise N2 million, which they offered the abductors. Unfortunately, the abductors have rejected the money.

A family source told newsmen:

At the time they called us on Monday night, they said they could only reduce the ransom to N90m, but we begged them to collect N2 million, which they rejected.

“They said they would call us back today (Tuesday), but as I am talking to you. they have yet to do that.”

We are hoping for Falae’s safe return.

Ideally, tracking these abductors via their phone calls should be easy. But MTN keeps sending me message to register my sim, & even threatening to cut me off despite the fact that I have my sim registered already. So what’s the use of registering your sim?

So what is the govt doing to stop kidnapping generally? This has been on in Nig for several years now.Its worrisome to know that the kidnappers have to be paid to release the innocent people they abducted. When will there be a solution to these security problems in our dear country? This should perharps be the top priority of the new govt.

So unfortunate. A man that served Nigeria to his best. The fact that his family is unable to raise 100m quickly tells you that he did not steal our money. An old man that is just recovering from the loss of a son in the Agagu plane crash. I went to secondary school with two of his girls–so real and well brought up kids. I just pray for his safety.

Exactly. I am friends with the two sons (was friends with the late one, who was a devoted Christian; whilst he was Commissioner, after not seeing each other for some years, on a phone call that was meant to be about a business for the State, very early in the morning before working hours, we spent one hour just talking about God, and ended up having to schedule another call to talk about the business), they are indeed well brought up, real, humble, no airs and graces yet true pedigree always shows. They were not brought up with a “come and chop” (‘national cake’ or otherwise) mentality. To go through burying a child, a son, and then this, on his 77th birthday, I don’t understand how some people can be so insensitive, cruel, mean and tactless in their comments. There is hardly any ransom story you hear of, that the family pay the original amount asked by the kidnappers, they are always so outrageous, and are always brought down. God will bring him back alive, completely safe and sound, and end every tale of sorrow in their family, no more sorrow, no more loss, no more theft, total restoration to the entire Olu Falae family and bloodline; also, this fulani herdsmen menace will end once and for all, to the glory of His holy name, in Jesus’ name, Amen.

A former Secretary to the Federal Government was abducted ??…Totally unheard of. It’s like hearing that Hillary Clinton was abducted in America. Nigeria still has a very long way to go…

Where is FFK that was making threats? If he is buying Range Rover for girlfriend, how much has he supported the family with? Hopefully the man is released soon.
