Kunle Afolayan is one hell of a producer. All his movies are always well produced and directed. It’s refreshing, to such talent.

I’m happy for kunle even though he whines a lot. he uses the best actors and has good funding, which equals good movie. But i think most of his screen plays/stories are basic, however, the acting and cinematography always makes up for it. i will be watching this.

    • Ewa

      January 24, 2016 at 10:16 pm

I agree with you. His stories are basic.

    • me

      January 24, 2016 at 11:10 pm

What do you mean by his stories are basic? You want him to do star wars abi Avatar ni? Or you want him to green screen his entire movie, before his stories become less basic. Anyways, thanks Kunle for all the stories you tell well, using beautiful sceneries and directing creatively. I hope to be way better than you soon…. lol, just saying, a girl has to aspire high

Me, are you even minding them? I’ve never seen such a ridiculous comment. How can you watch a Kunle Afolayan movie and say the stories are basic? Are you for real?! Clearly you’re unsure of the word you’re using or you don’t know what basic movies are. But for producers and directors like Kunle Afolayan, Emem Isong, T Kelani, majority of Nollywood movies are basic and crap. He’s part of the very few Nollywood producers that’ll make me actually watch a Nollywood movie. His stories are on point, the actors are on point, the cinematography, etc are on point. He pays attention to detail. He doesn’t produce movies every year like most people, but when he producers, it’s usually a classic! It is very certain you have absolutely no idea of what you’re talking about.

Kunle Afolayan’s movies are always on point! my favourite is FIGURINE! this is one producer that I would pay a premium to watch in cinemas and support by buying original DVD’s God bless your hustle man!

Hope this story will not be as bad as October 1, I nearly ask for my money back in cinema. Let’s say the truth, October 1 was not a good movie, my God the story was flat no suspense, no twist.

    • Shandi

      January 25, 2016 at 10:40 am

No suspense in October 1?! What?! The movie had a lot of suspense. To say I was intrigued was/is an understatement. I don’t think you know what suspense is, that’s the problem.

    • Jade

      January 26, 2016 at 8:38 pm

      @Goddy nwyu

Yeah, collect ya money back bcos u watched the wrong movie. October 1, had me sitting at the edge of my chair, he had everything in it. Kunle, is brilliant at what he does.

    • Youyou

      August 9, 2016 at 9:52 pm

How can you say there was no suspense in October 1. Am sure you already heard a bit or whole of the story line before watching. That kills suspense in movies. I don’t allow people who have seen movies say a word when i am watching for the first time. I need that feel……….

  16. Wunmi

    January 25, 2016 at 9:37 am

Did you say there was no suspense in October 1? I think u saw the wrong one. Maybe you should see it again with an open mind.

  17. Ama

    January 25, 2016 at 9:55 am

No suspense in October 1? You should demand a refund from the vendor who sold you a wrong movie labelled October 1

  18. Ada

    January 25, 2016 at 11:39 am

This movie is so promising,we have raised our standards to compete with the best of the best. See the cast now, different Nationalities!!! Scenes cut across different African Countries. Aunty Hilda, welcome back to the Industry. Aunty Angelique, from this lil clip,i can tell you delivered on your part. @Ama,hahahahahahaha @ wrong movie labelled October 1. Don’t mind some ridiculous people online everywhere, from the one with his movies being “basic” to “no suspense”. Everyone now feels somewhat advanced to pen whatever grim that comes to mind. Mr. Kunle, two thumbs up!!!!!!!!!!!

    January 25, 2016 at 12:21 pm

      January 25, 2016 at 2:54 pm

Damsel you have killed me.No be small October 2nd..They just want to drop comments to fulfil all righteousness. If you did not enjoy it,say you did not but to say Oct 1st had no suspense,hmmmm..they are soaking your cane in diesel. That being said once its Kunle’s movie,I will be watching.

    January 25, 2016 at 12:35 pm

The only this I can say right now is I thank God for giving us someone like Kunle. He’s one producer/director that would make you want to see OUR very own movie.
He gives serious attention to details. Imagine October 1, Figurine and the likes. God will continue to bless you with mind blowing ideas. we love you.

    January 25, 2016 at 1:31 pm

No doubt kunle is his father’s son…ade love….His movies are so not basic and please October 1 had so much suspense in it, yes we knew who the murderer was and that was intentional, what was obscure to the viewers and the real twist ‘was the rationale behind his killings’… well-done ojare!!!

  22. aaewhy

    January 26, 2016 at 5:36 pm

Lol there was actually no suspense in Oct 1. Don’t you guys watch movies and read books? What exactly was the suspense there?
His stories are actually basic tbh. Oct 1, Phone swap? Really? Figurine was even still okay.
There is no denying that he is an amazing producer and director. His cinematography and production design are always on point that’s a fact as well. But there is a difference between production quality and the actual content. Most of us get caught up in the quality and we are just thinking “wow amazing movie”. Imagine if Oct 1 was produced in America with the exact screenplay would you still think “Oh such an amazing movie?” be honest. It’s because the idea of Nigerian filmmakers putting out quaity stuff with good production design is still new.. we just package the whole thing as “wow amazing movie”
That being said, the CEO looks very good and I can’t actually wait to watch it. Hopefully the screenplay is apt this time.

    January 27, 2016 at 8:51 am

Definitely watching this but most likely in DVD. Kunle Afolayan should find a legitimate distributor and widely circulate details of where people can get legitimate DVDs of his movies, I hate buying pirated especially works of Nigerian artistes and producers. I am always scolding people I know for this.

    • molarah

      January 27, 2016 at 11:25 pm

Me too! I’m not into cinemas and I’m willing to pay premium for a DVD copy of a good movie. It’s saddening to see that originals are not readily available for purchase, and fakes are everywhere. Please, Afolayan and co, look seriously into this distribution thing.

And for those claiming Oct 1 was just there, well, no words for you. You probably can’t tell quality even if it hit you in the face.

  26. tomeloma

    January 27, 2016 at 1:36 pm

Wow…that I must watch. Very similar plot to Agatha Christie’s novel: ‘And then there were none’.
