Something for the “Chocolate’ Girls! Kelly Rowland is Creating a New Makeup Line

Grammy-award winning singer Kelly Rowland informed Essence Magazine at an event by Claritin and the Boys & Girls Clubs of America about her exciting new project to launch a makeup line created specifically for chocolate girls.

She said, “my makeup artist Sheika Daley and I are actually starting a makeup line. We’re making sure we make, well, we’re starting off with lashes and then we’re going to have it grow for all women. But definitely making sure we have our chocolate girls covered. Gotta get the chocolate girls in there! We have to have that, you know. I think Iman has done a beautiful makeup line and I want to do it too!”

The artist has definitely identified the need to increase the supply for women of colour on the makeup counter – which is great! Although, there has been a lot of change so far but one cannot deny that there is still room for improvement by all brands attempting to target the audience with darker skin.

Unfortunately there is no confirmation on  her launch date, or photos of the products so far but we are excited for whats to come.

It’s going to be a good year for Kelly Rowland as the artist is set to release a new album in a couple of months.
