#RioOlympics2016: Chierika Ukogu Won’t be Competing for Medals at the Women’s Rowing Semifinals

Chierika Ukogu

Yesterday we reported that Nigeria’s Chierika Ukogu, 23 qualified for the semifinals of the #RioOlympics2016 rowing event.

While that is true, Ukogu, who placed 5th in her group, qualified for the semi-finals C/D as against A/B which are the medal contention rounds.

The C/D rounds are for ranking.

We are still proud of this young Nigerian who sacrificed a lot to represent us at the Olympic games. She put medical school on hold to compete, and also sponsored herself all through.

Congratulations Ukogu. We are proud of you!
