In this video, Chef Lola shows us how she makes one of Nigeria’s favourite snacks, Chicken Pie. It’s possible to recreate this pastry with a different filling like fish or just plain vegetables but here’s what you’ll need for Chef Lola’s Chicken Pie;
Ingredients
For the Chicken Pie Filling
- 1 Pound Ground Chicken
- 1 Cup Diced Potatoes
- 3/4 Cup Diced Carrots
- 1 Small Onion (Diced)
- 1/4 Tsp Black Pepper
- 1/4 Tsp Chilli Powder
- 1 Seasong Cube
- Salt To Taste
- 2 Tbsps Veg Oil
- 1/4 Tsp Curry Powder
- 2 Tbsps Flour
- 1/2 Cup Water
For the Pie Pastry
- 4 Cups All Purpose Flour
- 120g Butter (8-1/2 Tbsp)
- 120g Margarine (8-1/2 Tbsp)
- 1/2 Tsp Baking Powder
- A Pinch of Salt
- 1/4 Tsp Nutmeg (optional)
- 6-8 Tbs Water
