BN TV: Why Are Black Women So Angry?

BuzzFeed released a video recently, asking African American/Black women in America why they think black women are so angry. The video highlights a social media racist incident that actress Leslie Jones had to go through after her role in the 2016 remake of the movie, Ghostbusters.

Most black women confuse being loud as defending themselves. Get rid of the attitude, and progress with the rest of the ladies. The truth is, no one cares.

This is such an ignorant and close minded statement. There are soo many non black cultures that are equally loud (ex Indians, Filipinos etc). Explore other cultures to open your limit worldview point.

Black people’s greatest weakness is that we bring each other down that is why most immigrant cultures will always be ahead of us.

Kelechi, i agree with everything except for “no one cares”. They do care. we cannot be being stereotyped, put in a box and ignored.

BLACK WOMEN ARE NOT ANGRY….. when i hear this crap “black women are so angry…” it annoys me to my core, Because when this statement is used, the idea behind it is this- well keep quiet and accept whatever nonsense you are getting at this point, because if you speak up for yourself you will be labelled as angry.

then again this is more relating to the US. there are other battles faced by women in Africa eg, to be a light skinned black woman vs a darker skinned one.

    Anyways, this video is appreciated

Not that I agree that black women are angry, but if we are; that’s because there’s a lot to be angry about! The mere posing of this question is enough to be angry about. Let’s not add to the conversation or further the stereotypes by bringing such stupid questions to our own forums. Have you ever seen any blogs or magazines targeted at white women asking the question ‘why are white women sluts’? Nope! It will be ridiculous and contemptuous to ask such a question; just like this is.
