Inspector General of Police, Ibrahim Idris leads Other Delegates to Visit President Buhari in London

After recent speculations about the health status of President Muhammadu Buhari and the real reason for his vacation in London, the Inspector General of Police, Ibrahim Idris, on Tuesday led a police delegation to visit the President in London.

According to Vanguard, the IGP was accompanied by the DIG in Charge of Finance and Administration, Shuiabu Gambo, Commissioner of Police in Charge Monitoring Unit, CP Umar Garba and some other top ranking officers who departed from the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport early Tuesday morning and have arrived London.

The reason for the impromptu visit was not disclosed but was confirmed that the visit was top secret and planned in a short notice.

Too much waste of brain cells, resources and common sense. It’s appalling. I mean, it’s very shameful. You almost want to give up if proper change will ever come to Nigeria, the whole of Africa.
My guess is, Buhari is very ill and the government is keeping it a secret just like yaradua. Time will tell when Buhari dies.

These officials have luggages like they are going on vacation. It’s a slap in the face.

To bad people actually believed they’ll get change from a 100 year old man. Heyya. Let’s wait till 2019 Or hit the streets in peaceful protests to make these people respect their mandate.

What is so top secret that the acting president could not sign off on? Isn’t that why we have a vice president? This country is beginning to look more and more like a sick joke with every headline.

The guys in this administration are really deceiving themselves and very annoying. Clueless leaders that we have.Wasting our common wealth globetrotting while other countries are deliberating how to move forward.I see why nothing move in Nigeria. Can’t wait for the life of this administration to expire. If Mr president had gone for check up in one of our hospitals in Nigeria I.G wouldn’t have left is duty post to go for sightseeing in London.Very rare for leaders in developed countries abandon their duty post for medical tourism and govt officials follow them for visitation.George Bush snr and wife had medical issues they were checked into a facility in the U.S not somewhere else.Obama is currently vacationing with wife in the U.S after 8 years of a difficult job.Our own not like that a minor headache they jump into the plane and move abroad and government officials go for visitation. Can’t they call?Is the president case serious? why wasting tax payers money? Except there is something going on that we don’t know.If I.G. did not come back on time Amechi e’tal will follow suit.We are watching,we see how everything is goona play out.

Me thinks this is not a vacation. Why in the world would the President’s health status be kept a secret? Nigerians have a right to know, and the government a duty to disclose. I wish him speedy recovery.

I thought vacationing is to wine, dine and relax. Why taking load of work to this hailing man. WHY? And, on which head this expenses will be accrued to because your trip is not justifiable.

  24. Iris

    January 25, 2017 at 2:01 pm

Thunder fire all of them. Who paid for that trip?
And look at this one now. Honestly, Nigerian presidential candidates need to start disclosing medical records before they run for office. That’s how there’ll be another Yaradua situation. Mtchew. If we all took sick leave like this man would we still have jobs?

    January 25, 2017 at 3:12 pm

There’s no justification for this trip in the first place.. President Buhari must guarantee all Nigerians that every Kobo spent on this trip by these useless Police officers will be returned back to the coffers of the Federal republic of Nigeria period. This is arrant nonsense. Waste not, Want not. If the President is dead or about to be. What is the presence of the members of the Nigerian Police officers do to prevent that from happening? . Arrest death?

I have one week to sort out my accommodation before work starts. Please help a sister. I can be reached on [email protected] . Merci

We have watched this movie before. If there is nothing wrong, Why haven’t demanded a retraction and apology from CNN and metroUK. Nooo. just stretching the days of uncertainty because they can. Secret meeting for what/ A visit from the IG of police to revive him? Running around for all the wrong reasons, looking for ways to circumvent the law and constitution.

But there is purportedly an acting president. there is a chief of defence staff, there is a Senate president, there is a national security adviser.. . Pray tell, what could be so important to interrupt a president’s ‘vacation’???

  33. Tony Blaze

    January 25, 2017 at 5:39 pm

How can a president be taking a vacation when the country is in a deep recession? If he’s there for treatment it’s reasonable but not a vacation, there’s plenty of work to be done. Now this will even create an atmosphere for politicians to loot funds while his away. Assuming we had reserved funds for the future may be we would have avoided this economic downturn but we decided to spend everything we had remaining nothing and now borrowing funds abroad that we might find difficult to pay back.

Come to think of it all the money they borrowed where is the result? When UK were in a recession they sold their telecommunication company worth 8 trillion pounds and used it to establish the terminal 5 Heathrow Airport which generates millions of dollars each year but we decide to borrow and spend. I fear a military coup now more than ever especially with this Biafra, Boko haram and Fulani crisis, just hope they don’t over throw the government and send this nation into a military rule or war again. Well Osinbajo should be getting ready to replace Buhari because it seems history might repeat itself.

Mr. President get well soon. I sincerely wish you did not contest and won this election. Your image has so diminished now. To me it would have been better for people to continue to regard you in high esteem. All the same get well soon and try to treat everyone equally be it Muslim. Christian or even pegan. Everyone has a right to life. Thank you.

I think this IG of police should be sacked as soon as he returns. The president goes on a 10 day vacation n u leave ur duty post which is the entire country that u ought to be policing and go visiting him. Isn’t that the same thing as travelling with taxpayers money to visit a couple on their honeymoon?

There is no difference between PDP and APC. Both are associations of the most senile and retrogressive Nigerians ever to cross the face of the earth. There is nothing inventive about APC. The ‘change’ mantra should appropriately have been called ‘a continuation of the status quo’.

How stupid do y’all feel after all the diarrhea of the mouth only to realize that the story was false as the IG and his team were actually invited by the MetPolice in UK?

Freedom of speech and press come with some responsibilities. Discretion is advised before jumping on all these “breaking news” from propagandists and mischief makers marauding as a social critics and investigative journalists.
