Oh damn! You beat me to it. It also had different flavours. Orange, lemon, vanilla, chocolate… Used to also eat it with Samco vanilla ice cream. The bees wax!!

Still love all types of wafers. Light and goes down nicely.

Who is BN’s editor? Stop rushing. Simple mistakes on a huge platform are the most annoying. Nigerians are notorious for slacking, become complacent when their business becomes successful.
It applies to restaurants, tailoring actually every area. BN has slacked so much. Please invest in the same effort, and creativity you had in the beginning.

      February 16, 2017 at 3:42 pm

Yes, I used to eat it with butter. There was the shortcake Okin too. Rectangular shaped.

Trivia – Chief Emmanuel Olatunji Adesoye, he of the popular Adesoye College, owned Okin biscuits. The man has been minting money like forever. It’s also because of him, I know Offa. Great guy.

    February 16, 2017 at 2:38 pm

We hated cabin biscuit in my house until my aunty came visiting with 2 boxes of cabin for us. She made us try it with butter (like a sandwich with butter in between). Mehn, that combo was finger licking good. E sweet die.

There was also milk and chocolate, star biscuit, Nasco wafers, pepper snack, that chewing gum with the Q&A, and Okin coaster biscuit (this one was the MVP, the mainest chick). After eating, I’d wash it down with that GSM juice or lolly (that colored frozen drink). Na wetin finish my snack money for school those days.

To add to all the amazing ones already mentioned-

    Tree top squash.
    Baba dudu sweets.
    Robot chewing gum.
    Jenka chewing gum.
Multicoloured 4 in 1 chewing gum. Then, the minty ones were the best.
    Cheese balls.
In the time of goody goody and bazooka, there were silver and gold coin chocolates too.
    The long, stick-like chin-chin.
Those coloured sweets that were conical (sugar, colouring and water really.)

In the 90s, Sprint chewing gum.

They “finished” us with sugar and colouring.

If anyone says Nigeria isn’t great, you are OYO!

oh my goodness…reading all this posts just brought goo memories..the 80’s and 90’s were the bomb mehn… OKIN biscuit was just out of this world. tasted it for the first time when one of my anty’s came visiting from the south west…they never used to sell it in PH back then or it was scarce.. i dunno, chai I loved this biscuit ehn like no mans bizness, whenever anyone was coming I will be praying the person has the good sense to buy it for us and not bring any yeye bread.
primary school highlights were nasco wafers, speedy, ptit, and that vanilla&chocolate stuff that has small spoon gogo, m&k, fruit made, caprisonne and ribena
back then in secondary school ironed milo and garri cake trust me the garri cake was very rich with milo and milk #birthdaythings# cabin biscuit with butter or cabin flakes made so much sense
chai all of this were in abundance and so easy to buy those days …I will try to make my kids enjoy a lil bit of what I enjoyed growing up…cos those years where da bomb
