“You cannot win against your agitated citizens” – Oby Ezekwesili calls on FG to Order Lagos Police not to stop the #IStandWithNigeria Protest

Former Minister of Education and Former Vice President (Africa Desk) of the World Bank, Oby Ezekwesili, has called on government not to “repress citizens” who are planning to express their constitutional rights.

She was reacting to a statement by the Lagos State Police Commissioner, Fatai Owoseni that the Command will not allow the  #IStandWithNigeria protest to hold in the state as it had received an intelligence report that hoodlums are planning to hijack the action.

She made this known in a series of Tweets on Friday.

Oh stop it. They made a choice, they made a choice. And now they are making another choice. You can sit out and keep talking and watching or you can join them. Nigerians are actually their own destinies in their hands, let them. Let them keep making their statements.

The FG really needs to out out a statement in support of the people exercising their right to peacefully assemble. This won’t be on just Buhari alone, Osinbanjo, ministers and governors, your silence is deafening.

@tunmi. And what a dumb and stupid choice they made! They did not only make it, they bullied many empty and gullible people into making that choice and for the most part, they made that choice not out of any belief that it was the better or a good choice for Nigeria but because it was the best choice for their selfish interests. And so they packaged that choice as the cool, moralistic lane to take and many gullible and foolish holders of countless degrees without a mind of their own fell for it. So Tunmininu, whether you were part of those ignoble people that foisted their self-interest induced choice on gullible Nigerian youths or you were one of the gullible Nigerians who fell for it or you did not even belong to either group, give up on trying to bully people from talking about the serious scam that was the 2015 Buhari campaigns.Bullying wont work this time. The hunger ‘that choice’ has caused has woken people up from their gullibility.

Tunmi, but y’all had history and what not to enlighten you about Buhari. I remember my friend telling me, “I don’t care what buhari has done, Jonathan has to go”, well, he’s gone!! And. Laughing his ass off at how stupid Nigerians have been.

Jonathan HAD to go. That was what the people wanted. No one was bullied. Stop insulting Nigerians with that. Nigerians are realizing that they have a choice, that they control their future. And better late than never.

Everyone has said it. If Madam Oby with her exposure and expected sense of reasoning on what leadership traits and qualities mean, still danced the dance of ignorance and collective madness for Buhari’s election, like many did, why will I have hope in the ability of people in this country to ever act reasonably on matters of state and governance?

All you Jonathan people above must be either mad, crazy or your brain is dead.

You all are what is wrong with this country. Many of you were benefitting from Jonathans govt at the expense of the majority. I mean, how can you have a president who allowed all those evil happen under his leadership. They sucked an ld milked Nigeria dey from deziani to Bala Muhammed and his son, to soldiers ammunition scandal….. Etc

Nigerians were tired of 5% benefitting at the expense of the 95% and wanted someone else. Buhari is not our family member, neither do we know him from Adam. He is not our kinsmen, not from our tribe or what have you…. But we needed an alternative who can stop that evil 5% act( which you all obviously belong too. It’s tight everywhere that’s why you all are crying now. The money you easily steal during Jonathans period is no longer there again…. Really paining you)

@ Buhari, we only needed someone else…… And the only alternative we had was Buhari….. He promised heaven and earth……. But the heart of men is desperately wicked. We are seeing smth else and YES those of us who clamored for him in 2015 are the ones saying we MUST protest… What does that tell you? He was the only alternative who could give Jonathan a run for his money in that election. If there was another alternative, people would have gone for it. If Obama or even Fashola had come out and had the chance to win, people would have gone for them.

Stop making it a personal eish about Buharis person and dictatorship traits. God of heaven isn’t sleeping. God of Adeboye , Oyedepo, Kumuyi…. isn’t sleeping in heaven. He will judge all of you in that 5% category that milked and sucked us dry. If you didn’t suck us dry, we wouldn’t have a need of going for another alternative – – – the demon we are fighting now.

Jonathans period, 5% benefitted at the expense of all. Buharis period, the recession is affecting all! Buhari would be better than your Jonathan cos it is fair to all not some of you enjoying and laughing at others
