There has been a shooting at Champs-Élysées Thursday which is one of the most famous boulevard of Paris.
According to The Washington Post, the shooting which claimed the lives of one policeman and the gunman, left an officer severely injured occurred three days before France would hold the first round of their presidential election.
Although there hasn’t been any indication of a motive by the police authorities as the the attack is still under investigation. The country has been hit by a wave of terrorist attacks in the last two years that has claimed more than 300 lives.
The shooting occurred in the middle of a televised campaign event, when each of the 11 current candidates was given 15 minutes to sell voters on their respective platforms.
