I noticed the setting of the Voice Nigeria is almost exactly like the one in America. Why is it that Nigerian cannot create their own signature setting .Must they copy from america? Secondly, even the name VOICE is also copied from America. Nigerian are very talented and they should be able to come up with their own signature programs and not be copying from america.

      Google the word “Franchise”.

The idea of a franchise is that the format/ design of an existing concept is retained, while infusing local content. Calm down, Ma.

The Voice was originally created in Holland. So you see America even ‘copied’. The franchise was sold and adapted in America, United kingdom, Nigeria, Australia and other parts of the world.

Sorry, excuse you, ‘the voice’ is a competition that is held in so many places throughout the world just like X factor. So it’s not Nigeria copying

    Hi Ada,
It’s a franchise. When you buy a franchise, your theme(s) i.e colours, settings in most cases must be in sync with that of the parent company. I guess the naija ‘flavour’ you’re asking for can be found in the live audience (sing along to Nigerian songs, inflections of Nigerian slangs as well as comments from the judges).

It might also interest you to know that The Voice Nigeria is shot in South Africa.
