I’m proud of my Heritage – Wale addresses People Criticizing him for Spraying Daughter | WATCH
MMG rapper Wale has responded to people criticizing him for spraying his daughter Kemi money on her birthday, saying he’s unbothered, as that is his tradition.
Wale shared a video on Instagram of his daughter’s birthday party last week where his daughter is sprayed money, as it is done in Nigerian parties.
Social media users condemned the rapper for the act, comparing it to “making it rain” on strippers.
In an interview with TMZ, he addressed the comments. He said he doesn’t see any thing wrong in the act, and that he’s proud of where he’s from.

To be honest Americans are the dumbest people on earth. If one is born in Houston Texas they dunno anything apart from Houston Texas. Awon Oniranu. So a father will be letting it rain on his daughter that she is a stripper? At least do small research. His name is Wale. Is it an American name? No. It’s Nigerian. What do Nigerians do? We spray the money. Spray spray spray. By hand or by machine. We spray it. At wedding we spray. Naming ceremony we spray. Thanksgiving service we spray. Even burial we spray. Expand your horizons. Learn something new. And no stupid Nigerian or other African should come and mention under here that spraying is wrong. It is not. It s our culture. Yes, Sango and Amadioha were spraying cowries too. LOL.
