"You better control your jealousy" - Bishop Oyedepo to Persons attacking Churches for Owning Private Jets | WATCH

Bishop David Oyedepo

In recent times, the conversation about Nigerian pastors/churches owning private jets became more intense, as well as the discourse on whether Christians should give tithes or not.

On the one hand is the group saying pastors should not own private jets, adding that they are using church funds (tithes and offerings) to maintain their “luxurious lifestyle,” hence Christians should not “give tithes to pastors” but help the poor and needy around them. Another group says tithing is a personal decision and people should be left to spend their money how they deem fit.

Some other people are indifferent and some share some of the sentiments of both groups above.

In a video that has surfaced on social media recently, Bishop David Oyedepo, Senior Pastor of Living Faith Church (LFC) Worldwide a.k.a Winners Chapel, speaking during a church service has cautioned persons attacking pastors for owning private jets saying “you better control your jealousy”. “We have been flying jest before you went to school,” he adds.

Speaking “against the church of Christ is a risk…. The church is the most value-adding institution in Nigeria,” he says

Wow. Just wow. ??‍♀️??‍♀️??‍♀️. Jealousy? Really? Daddy G.O, E’Dakun, this isn’t the answer any mature minded leader should give. Either come with a sustainable response or say nothing at all.

the church can be at the forefront of the accelerating the development of communities but the GOs keep getting involved in worldly frivolities…

when the b:rits came to steal from us, they used religion and they used it to develop their people and infrastructures..

In SA, the dutch also built the infrastructure both in europe and in SA bcos they had plans to stay and prevent the indigenes from using the same infrastructure..

the brits tried the same in Lagos Island but Awolowo and his crew were developing the mainland and at the same time pushing for independence.. that’s one of the reasons after independence there was a civil war to make sure southern Nigeria never controls its resources.

If Nigerian pastors don’t use the capital they have to start improving and upgrading the infrastructure around them, its only a matter of time before more non-christians turn on them and in a country like Nigeria where there is constant effort to wipe out christians and christianity the pastors need to choose their words carefully..

Oyedepo control your tongue… christ is false and a whyte devil… speaking against church of christ is speaking against whyte imperialism.

@Dust. I Quote “Oyedepo control your tongue… christ is false and a whyte devil… speaking against church of christ is speaking against whyte imperialism.”
How do u know Christ is “white”. The same “white” peeps your condeming who claimed christ is “white” is the same people u have believed that christ is “white”??Because the” white” used religion and Christianity to do bad things does it mean christ is false?. I was comprehending the epistle but at the end i lost a brain cell. You are “false” by writing that catchy epistle and then doing bad to our brain cells at the end. You are no different from false pastors and christians deceiving people who with no good intention.

What a very arrogant and obnoxious man. So full of himself yet so insecure and lashes out at any drop of criticism.
You are flying private jets up and down and building universities with the money of your members (most of whom are poor) and you still have the nerve rub it in their face and brag about it. Can you see how wicked this man is? Using Christianity to fill his pockets and secure the futures of his lineage by stealing and robbing from those who have so little. No conscience. No character.
To make it worse, this lack of character and refusal to preach the true word of God means his messages are always limited to misinterpretations and ramblings. He links every single part of the bible to useless personal anecdotes and twists them into talks about blessings, sowing of seeds and prosperity. Nothing else. These are the only things he ever talks about. Whenever he attempts to even start to talk about things like righteousness, humility, salvation etc he gets lost and the devil inside of him pulls him back to the only thing he knows which is the Gospel of Prosperity. Kai.
I truly pity all the ignorant, blind sheep being led astray by this Antichrist.
Save yourselves from the bondage of the Suleimans, Adebayors and Oyedepoos and you will see the light.

For your information, he’s church members are not poor. If they are poor, how were they able to raise the money for his private jet. (Of which I don’t even blv he used church money to purchase). Leave these men of God alone. Afterall they didn’t deep hands into pples pocket to take money, they all gave willingly.

Churches in Nigeria are the most value adding institutions in Nigeria? I beg to differ… Who exactly is reaping the value? The congregants or church INC?

Who says you are the church of Christ? You are that prostitute described in the Bible who will milk the masses and preach the type of “gospel” that they desire to hear. We have been warned about wolves in sheep clothing like you and may other prosperity churches in Nigeria. The judgment day will be interesting. We will see lots of pastors who will be told to depart from me, I don’t know you! Father grant me the grace to make the race to the end. Grant me the compassion to pray for these lost men who deceive your flock for their benefit. Save your church Lord!

in as much as i don’t subscribe to some of their practices but are you very sure that his church does no kind of charitable works ??? just asking o

    • Dust

      January 28, 2018 at 6:52 pm

this has nothing to do with charity.. whether they do charity or not is un-important. the church and Nigerian christians are been persecuted.

his church owns two universities which employs hundreds of Nigerians, also has different branches which also employs tens of Nigerians…

Owning a school means they are in the education industry of the Nigerian economy… Like MFM that owns a football club means they are in the sports industry. Like COZA that released a religious song means they are in the music industry…

the church can also invest in the manufacturing industry, tourism, agriculture, technology e.t.c.. and shut their critics up with what they’ve built and how they are contributing to the economic development of the SW and Nigeria at large…

I am not a religious person but Nigerians criticising the church are not looking at how the church has helped and is helping southern Nigeria’s economy and how the church can boost the southern Nigerian economy,

some evil Nigerians want to destabilize the finances of the church and one of the many the church can fight back is to invest in businesses and the youth..

Why do these pastors get in their feelings about money though when tithe and their wealth is questioned. If they can cuss you out publicly, they will.
It confirms where their heart is, and their motives.

Why did Jesus die and rose again?
    What is the gospel?
What is Christ’s mandate to every believer?

MY QUESTION IS: How many of your church members own private jets? JESUS WAS NOT DIFFERENT FROM HIS DISCIPLES.
The early Church had ALL THINGS IN COMMON.
