Few days after his triumph at the 2017 Golden Globe Awards, actor James Franco is once again in the news but this time, for the wrong reason. The Hollywood star has been accused of inappropriate sexual behavior by 5 women. The women who opened up to LA Times about the actor’s behavior expressed their disappointment at his Golden Globe accolade.
One of the women, Sarah Tither-Kaplan said it “was like a slap in my face”. Sarah who was a former student at the acting school Franco founded went on:
“I feel there was an abuse of power, and there was a culture of exploiting non-celebrity women, and a culture of women being replaceable.”
She also made the accusations on her Twitter page shortly after his Golden Globe win:
Hey James Franco, nice #timesup pin at the #GoldenGlobes , remember a few weeks ago when you told me the full nudity you had me do in two of your movies for $100/day wasn’t exploitative because I signed a contract to do it? Times up on that!

Actress Violet Paley also shared her encounter with the actor:
Cute #TIMESUP pin James Franco. Remember the time you pushed my head down in a car towards your exposed penis & that other time you told my friend to come to your hotel when she was 17? After you had already been caught doing that to a different 17 year old?

James Franco has however addressed the allegations against him on two shows; “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert” on Tuesday & “Late Night with Seth Myers” on Wednesday. He denied all allegations against him but acknowledged the rights of the women to speak out.
