#VisaBae: UK YouTuber who fears Deportation to Zimbabwe asks Followers for Help

Rutendo Tichiwangani, a fashion blogger who has lived in the UK since she was 10 shared an emotional video on her YouTube channel seeking for funds for fears she might be deported to Zimbabwe.

According to her, the UK Home Office has given her until May 6, to re-apply for a visa which will be considered on its own merit.

Since the release of the video, Tichiwangani has been getting a lot of criticism online because according to her followers, she portrays a luxurious lifestyle on her social media pages with designer bags, shoes and clothes.

In a recent interview, the blogger explains to Claudia-Liza Armah of Channel 5 News that she gets some of the luxury items by collaborating with companies, adding that some of the items were borrowed from her friends.

I feel so sorry for her. Went on her Go-fund me page and she already smashed her target and recieved almostv4K ?.
I feel strongly that she will get her indefinite stay , Having already had 6years leave to remain.

Its so easy for people to judge. Am not saying she did well with potraying a false lifestyle.

But sometimes when you really know what people are going thru , you may actually be moved to tears. Especially with immigration problems, its the worst situation a person can be in .
I applaud her for coming out publicly, it takes a lot of courage.

Also, its about time the Home office looked into these outrageous fees for immigrantion applications.Which is causing a lot of havoc for families and individuals .

How can a person who is already struggling afford £2,300 for an application excluding additional Lawyer fees of about £1,500.

God bless everyone who reached and helped…

Apologies for the long epistle! back to work !

Nobody is blaming her for having immigration issues, England is not her country so it’s not out of place for her to need to fulfil their requirements of legal stay there. However, there is no justification for her to not have some money saved and a job that pays no matter how little. I will support someone who has something put down but needs contribution to make up the balance. I’ll even support a really poor and struggling person but it’s not in anyway OK that she’ll live a lavish lifestyle, comfortably remain without paid employment then come out to ask the public to fund her scheme to the last penny. This sense of entitlement and utter lack of shame is baffling and shouldn’t be excused nor encouraged.
For crying out loud, David Beckham’s celebrity-trust fund kid did a menial job as a teenager, how is this broke Zimbabwean madam better than him that she cannot work?

I saw this gist trending on IG this morning and I’m SHOOK. How could a full grown woman that has lived in the UK since she was 10 not work and save approximately 2300GBP to fund her indefinite-leave-to-remain application?! This looks to me like a well-calculated scheme to scam the generous public.

£2,300 , excluding money for Lawyers is not peanuts …
      So what are you saying?.
Do you live in the UK? And if yes ,do you not know that there is poverty in the UK too. Particularly amongst people with issues with thier immigration status/backgrounds.
They is a huge number of poorer families amongst migrant families. She may have been covering this up with a fake/make believe lifestyle ?‍♀️.
Nonetheless, it is real . I know a few migrants that cannot even afford this £2,300. Imagine if it was a family of four.
What some people have easily , a few others may struggle to have.
Anyone , I mean anyone can go thru rough times at any point. God help us !

She couldn’t sell one of her designer items she shows off on social media to pay for her visa? Slay queen cries, fools and their money are soon parted.

Glad she got the help she needed. It just goes to show, most people who live their lives publicly are only showing you what they want you to see. All smoke and mirrors

She had a job in retail (TK maxx ) and quit after a month because it wasn’t for her. She got another job in the corporate world and quit after a week because “she didn’t feel it”.
She the moved to London homeless, penniless and jobless and relied on her friends to survive, whilst also flexing for instagram.
It’s hard to feel sorry for her when she comes across as lazy and self entitled

p.s- when people told her to close donations as she had almost double the amount needed, she claimed she didn’t know how to turn it off. *side-eye
