The official trailer for Genevieve Nnaji‘s highly anticipated movie “Lionheart” is here!

Lionheart, which will premiere at the 2018 Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF), stars Nkem Owoh, Pete Edochie, Onyeka Onwenu, Kanayo O. Kanayo, Kalu Ikeagwu, Peter “Mr P” Okoye and more, and this would be Genevieve’s directorial debut.

The movie follows Genevieve who plays Adaeze, a level-headed executive in her father’s bus company, Lionheart Transport. Time and again, Adaeze has proven her keen ability to make a profit and to manage the most heated situations. But when her father falls ill, both her and her rival are passed over in favour of Adaeze’s less-than-suave uncle, Godswill.

Determined to fight her way to the top, but not wanting to go against her father’s wishes, Adaeze feels like the proverbial bus has left the station without her. She must quickly shift gears, however, when her and Godswill discover that Lionheart is running on fumes, financially. Together, the unlikely duo must come together to save the company and their family name.

Sharply and comically observed, the film deals with the everyday sexism that saturates workplaces everywhere, and captures the delicate balance between honouring one’s family while finding the courage to strike out on one’s own.

Tired of the archetypal typecast that Genevieve usually plays. Corporate executive, no nonsense type of woman. It’s getting boring and predictable.

But we all know Genny has no range. Lol. She is the Gabrielle Union of Nigeria. If it’s not corporate bishy single boss lady , they can’t cast them.

@Ada…you guys will just stay and be beefing unnecessarily…
Is it not the same actors that acts action movie in Hollywood year in year out and you guys still rush them! No be the same Acton Hero James Bond dey play everytime?
GENNY is now playing in a comedy, you guys are still choking on it… You just need her to be playing the role of a mad woman in a role so you can be happy!!
If you are finding her characters boring, go to church and pray to God for renewal of mind and stop hating !!

I was going to say the same thing. A lot of actors play the same role movie in movie out… no big deal. It is called specialization… please free her, does she act it well or does she not.

I thought only I recognised the resemblance between her n chimamanda. The hair right? Yes but all the same she’s beautiful. I can’t wait to see the movie. What’s interesting is that the movie Hollywood movie titled “farming” which she starred in but was produced by a nigerian from the british scene is also at toronto film festival and lion heart is in the same category with it. The discovery platform.
